About the Role The Nurse Resident is a licensed Registered Nurse enrolled in Howard University Hospital’s Vizient/AACN Nurse Residency Program, reporting to the Nurse Manager and the Director of Professional Practice & Education. Through structured support and mentorship, you will advance toward independent responsibility for the safe and effective delivery of patient-centered care, building the clinical judgment and confidence that define a successful transition to professional nursing practice. Over the course of the residency, you will educate patients and families across the continuum of care, develop your practice through feedback and guidance from experienced nurses, and complete an evidence-based practice project.
