Weekend Registered Nurse Supervisor

Weekend Supervisor - Registered Nurse Saturday & Sunday Primary Responsibilities: • Directs, evaluates, and supervises all resident care and initiates corrective action as necessary. • Makes resident rounds with a report to the Director of Nursing Service. • Conducts quality assurance and continuous quality improvement monitoring. • Establishes open lines of communication between all nursing personnel and consistently takes follow-up action as necessary. • Counsels and disciplines nursing personnel and recommends personnel action to the Director of Nursing Service as necessary. • Reviews residents admitted and compares physician orders with each resident’s plan or care to assure appropriate implementation. • Knowledgeably and competently performs basic nursing skills. Prerequisites: • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. • Current RN licensure in Massachusetts. • Minimum of (3) years recent clinical experience. • Knowledge of Geriatric Nursing. • Current certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support in accordance with American Heart Association or American Red Cross standards required. • Knowledge of growth and development across the life span required.

We are hiring Registered Nurses (RN) to join our dynamic care team at Cape Heritage Rehabilitation & Health Care Center in Sandwich! Up to a $5,000 sign-on bonus available! Weekly pay ranges from $45 to $51, depending on the shift. Evenings, overnights, and weekends come with pay differentials. Full-time and part-time openings on 7a-3p, part-time opening on 3p-11p, and full-time opening on 11p-7a. Includes every other weekend. As a Registered Nurse, you provide direct nursing care to residents and supervise the day-to-day nursing activities performed by the nursing assistants to ensure that the highest degree of quality care is maintained at all times. Education and Experience: Must possess, as a minimum, a Nursing Degree from an accredited school of nursing or college. Must be CPR certified. Must have a current and active RN license in the state, be in the process of obtaining one, or recently graduated from a Massachusetts nursing program. New graduates welcome! Duties and Responsibilities: Meet the nursing and rehabilitation needs of each resident. Maintain current resident care plans on all residents under his/her care. Follow physician’s orders. Renders and/or assist with complete nursing care, treatments, dressings, and other physician orders. Transcribe physician’s orders promptly and accurately. Review patient records daily to assure accuracy and completeness. Document comprehensive and complete nursing notes. Visit each resident daily to evaluate resident needs. Maintain accurate awareness of residents on alert list. Document and report any unusual or significant findings; contact the physician when necessary. Administer medication according to procedure. Maintain an accurate and safe control of all drugs for which he/she is responsible. Initiate any and all emergency procedures as necessary. Demonstrate correct safety techniques in accord with orientation and training processes of Athena and your specific job description. Complies with facility Privacy Practices Policies and Procedures and protects residents’ individual health information. Other duties assigned by Director of Nursing and other managerial team members. Specific Requirements: Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language. Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such actions. Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public. Must be knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines that pertain to long term care. Must possess leadership and supervisory ability and the willingness to work harmoniously with professional and non-professional personnel. Must possess the ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies and procedures, etc., that are necessary for providing quality care. Must possess accurate and comprehensive assessment skills. Must be familiar with drug actions and interactions. Must have knowledge of restorative nursing rehabilitation policies and utilizes appropriately. Must have patience, tact, a cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm, as well as the willingness to handle difficult residents. Must be willing to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing nursing practices. Must be able to communicate effectively to appropriate personnel regarding emergencies.
