Position Summary RN, Ambulatory Care - Outpatient Infusion Center - Full-Time - Day Shift Bayfront Hospital, St. Petersburg FL Position Summary Administers patient care in an area where patients come for treatment and typically return home the same day or care takes place in a post-acute transitional care setting. Essential Functions Utilizes the unique knowledge, skills, and competencies required in ambulatory care nursing practice to promote wellness, restore health, address health-related situational problems and/or support end-of-life care. Assesses patients’ needs and applies current ambulatory care nursing knowledge and evidence-based nursing practice when developing an individualized plan of care for each patient. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on assigned unit. Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span, assesses the data reflective of the patient’s status and interprets the necessary information needed to identify each patient’s requirements relative to age-specific needs. Prescribes, delegates, coordinates, and documents patient care in a knowledgeable, skillful, and consistent manner. This includes but is not limited to patient assessment, education, medication administration, treatments, and patient safety. Demonstrates competency in nursing skills and use of patient care/unit equipment as defined by unit-specific requisite skills. Prioritizes patient care in an ongoing manner in accordance with Evidence-Based Practice Standards of Care. Practices effective problem identification and resolution. Delegates tasks and duties to healthcare team members in accordance with the patient’s needs and the team member’s capabilities and qualifications. Communicates appropriate information regarding patient condition or unit concerns to other health care team members. Maintains a safe and caring environment for both patients and family. Integrates patient and family education throughout the delivery of care. Participates in Process Improvement activities as assigned. Demonstrates awareness of legal issues, patients’ rights and compliance with the standards of regulatory and accrediting agencies. Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards. Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures. Other Related Functions The professional nurse contributes to the knowledge and skills of others, and the continuous improvement of the quality of health care practice and organizational outcomes. Participates and may lead unit level and/or organizational level committees of nursing practice and performance improvement. Participates in department and organizational peer review, mentoring, and coaching regarding professional practice or role performance. Practices efficient use of supplies and maintains a clean, safe, and organized unit. Provides input into staff development needs, hospital and/or nursing committees, nursing research activities, and performance management activities of co-workers and self. Assumes responsibility for one’s own professional development and continuing education. Performs all other duties as assigned. Education/Training Graduate of an approved school of nursing. Meets all mandatory, developmental, and performance competency requirements for Orlando Health and unit/department. Licensure/Certification Maintains current licensure as a registered nurse in the State of Florida or Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC). Maintains current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification. ACLS, NRP, PALS, TNCC are required for certain areas. Experience 1 year experience required unless approved by AVP level or above.

Job Description Summary: An Infusion Nurse II is a licensed registered nurse who coordinates and provides intermediate direct patient care to patients in the home, or in an alternate infusion suite, to ensure patient safety with continuity and compliance under a physician’s plan of care. Works under structured supervision of the designated supervisor. Schedule: First Shift Infusion Suite Sunday - Thursday Job Description: ​ Job Responsibilities (listed in order of importance and/or time spent) Initiates, develops, and implements intermediate nursing plan of care treatments, evaluating patient progress towards goals. Organizes and participates in the provision of direct patient care, performs treatments, administers medications, and educates patients and families/caregivers. Modifies plan of treatment in response to changing patient status or physician orders to achieve established or revised patient care goals. Assesses patient needs and physical status at each skilled visit through health data access and patient interview. Re-evaluates patient needs through physical reassessment, response to therapy, and supplemental physician orders. Obtains and clarifies physician orders for plan of treatment revisions, informs physician promptly of significant changes in patient's condition, and provides written summary to physician within supplemental order. Provides training and mentorship to Infusion Nurse I’s as needed to ensure patient safety and compliance. Provides effective and safe teaching using patient-centered care approach for patient and family to achieve independence with prescribed therapy and care needs through active participation per plan of treatment goals. Effectively and timely communicates with Option Care’s Clinical team, medical providers, patients, and families/caregivers to facilitate continuity of care. Prepares clinical documentation in real-time during visits and submits to the nursing department to comply with established timelines for billing optimization. Completes all documentation legibly and applies approved abbreviations and documentation error correction practices per Option Care’s policy. Coordinates discharge planning and prepares discharge summaries with patient instructions and thoroughly reports patient care needs, progress and goals when transferring care. Demonstrates compliance with agency operations, Option Care’s policies and procedures, professional standards, local, state, federal regulations/guidelines, and accreditation standards. Maximizes work efficiency through the use of computers and other automation technologies to validate plan of treatment orders, communicates patient care provided, and follows assigned visit schedule. Responds promptly and appropriately to patient requests. Initiates emergency procedures as necessary. Accepts accountability for own practice through ethical and professional conduct. Follows established programs and practice within policies and procedures reflective of Option Care’s mission, values, and objectives. Participates in multidisciplinary team conferences and provides precepting, training, and mentoring to other nurses for orientation, and onboarding and supervisory activities as assigned. Participates in nursing department on-call responsibilities. Performs other related duties as directed by supervisor. If applicable: Inserts PICC/Midlines per physician order. Troubleshoots/declots obstructed central line catheters. Monitors PICC/Midline and educates on prevention of line infection and routine care.
