There are also Nurse Practitioners in the Cancer Care Clinic who see patients in a patient care room setting within the clinic for symptom management concerns. This allow Oncology patients from the Siteman Cancer Center to receive care for some urgent needs. These patients are managed by the Nurse Practitioners and cared for the the staff nurses and PCTs. Additionally, when patients need to be admitted to the hospital, the Cancer Care Clinic begins the care for some of these patients who meet specific criteria. Overview The Oncology Nurse Navigator serves as an advocate for patients in accessing treatment services while promoting a positive patient experience for the individual and their family. This position also serves as a role model and resource to oncology nursing staff at UF Health St Johns with regards educational and program needs for complex clinical situations. Serves as advocate for cancer patients and their families in educational and community referral processes. Identifies opportunities for improvement in services offered by the Cancer Institute, including budgetary components.
