About this Job: General Summary of Position Delivers proficient nursing care to patients and families whose needs range from uncomplicated to highly complex. Receives supervision from the Nurse Leader and functional supervision from the clinical coach/designee. May at times receive functional supervision from other registered nurses. Participates in the Contemporary Primary Nursing Model by acting as a primary nurse or associate nurse for selected patients. Collaborates with the multidisciplinary team on the patient plan of care using the Interdisciplinary Model of Care (IMOC). CLINICAL: Takes action to support the National Patient Safety Goals nursing sensitive indicators regulatory requirements (i.e. DC Health TJC) and other identified quality metrics. Position Summary: The Registered Nurse works in a collaborative and cooperative relationship with other members of the health care team, plans and implements patient and family education and is responsible for assessing the needs and initiating appropriate intervention for patients. The position may necessitate working beyond a standard 40-hour workweek, including weekends and after-hours shifts. On-call work may be required to respond promptly to organizational, patient, or employee needs. This position is represented by the Montana Nurse's Association. What You Will Do In Your Role: You will have an understanding of aseptic technique and apply the knowledge in assuring maintenance of a sterile field and in assisting in a procedure or prepping a patient for surgery. You will demonstrate knowledge of which areas need to be prepped for the different kinds of procedure. You will assesses the patient prior to surgery and establishes that the patient understands the procedure being done and that a “timeout” be done prior to any procedure with the rest of the perioperative team. You will demonstrate team work, adaptability, and serve as a resource to the Surgical Services team. You will have accountability for delivering quality nursing care services and for promoting a positive image of nursing. What qualifications you will need: Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing is required. BSN is preferred. Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience as a Registered Nurse in an Operating Room setting is required. Current Registered Nurse License in the State of Texas or Multi-State Compact License (Employees with RN Compact License are required to obtain Texas RN License within 90 days of hire date). Current BLS and ACLS Certification are required. CNOR is preferred.
