Provide factual, unbiased information to clients seeking abortion. Describe the difference between medication and surgical abortion. Refer patients per protocol, perform follow-up functions, and assure complete documentation of care plan. Follow all federal, state, and local laws regarding mandated reporting, abortion services, healthcare services, and HIPAA. Provide contraceptive supplies, medications including injectables, perform venipuncture, and manage patients with medical emergencies per PPNCS protocols Assure inventory control of clinic and contraceptive supplies including ordering, stocking, and tracking as assigned. Communicate PPNCS protocols, policy and procedures to clinicians and staff as appropriate. Assure clinic manuals are up to date (e.g., clinic, lab, safety, MS&G). Maintain a working knowledge of Planned Parenthood policies and procedures and apply these to patient and clinic services. Supervise nursing functions as delegated by the Health Center Manager or clinician/physician. All health center staff are expected to participate in the onboarding of new employees and supporting the cross-training of established employees. Follow all state laws regarding mandatory reporting. Collaborate with and provide coverage as needed at health centers in assigned neighborhoods. Due to the complex nature of pain, RN will evaluate and treat pain in a prompt, caring fashion and reassess after each intervention, charting per UCMC protocol RN maintains hospital required nursing & ICU unit specific competencies needed to provide proficient nursing care; RN will provide continuity of care for infant, pediatric or adult patients based on area of specialty. This includes assisting in the care of critically ill patients during sedation/procedural encounters. Administering high-risk infusion and transfusion (i.e. chemotherapy medicines) Contributes to the Patient Services Sector/Outpatient Services Sector offering constructive suggestions for change and participating in the planning, implementation and evaluation of new and existing programs utilizing evidence based practice RN uses nursing knowledge to anticipate and plan for patient care needs. The RN understands and applies safety principles and serves as a resource to other healthcare personnel on patient care. RN knows the potential risks and complications from specialty procedures and can assist in the initial treatment of adverse effects in their area of expertise Required Qualifications Associate Degree in Nursing; BSN degree or higher preferred. Associate Degree Nurses are required to enroll in a BSN program within six (6) to nine (9) months of hire, and make progress toward and complete their BSN degree within 30 months. ADN nurses receive 100% tuition reimbursement towards a BSN degree from an accredited program. Job Overview The nurse (RN) case manager/care coordination team leader has the responsibility to manage all PACE participants in the ambulatory setting. Minimum Requirements Current valid License as a Registered Nurse through the California Board of Registered Nursing. A minimum of 1 year of experience in Geriatric Nursing is preferred. A minimum of 1 year of experience is preferred in a managed care setting, preferably in utilization or case management in an ambulatory or inpatient setting.
