Plan of care is based upon patient assessment, physician and anesthesia orders and preferences, and procedure specific criteria in a manner that is prioritized and timely. Demonstrates and maintains knowledge and skills necessary to meet physical, psycho-social, spiritual, cultural, and age appropriate needs of each patient. Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to perform all aspects of nursing care in both routine and emergency situations. Communicates changes in patient condition to physicians and necessary staff in a timely manner. Demonstrates knowledge of appropriate administration of medications and treatments according to policy, procedure and protocol. Verbalizes knowledge and demonstrates consistent use and compliance for written protocols (i.e.; pain, conscious sedation, skin, restraint, abuse, parental bonding, etc.) Evaluates and documents patient's progress toward achievement of outcomes. Meets discharge and ongoing patient educational needs related to treatment, procedures, disease process, equipment, medications, physician orders, and follow up care. Communicates with patient family members while patients are in PACU in a timely manner. Reports outcome progress and patient specific information to responsible caregiver when leaving department, end of shift, or upon transfer to another unit. Demonstrates competence in delegation, problem solving, and conflict resolution. Evaluates care given by team members and gives feedback. Effectively supervises team members and maintains accountability for standard of care provided. Acts as a resource to other team members. Organizes and utilizes time efficiently. Demonstrates appropriate prioritization. Maintains an organized work environment. Demonstrates the ability to work collaboratively on a team. Demonstrates positive interpersonal relationships with patients, significant others, multidisciplinary team members, and co-workers. Assists in other surgical services departments as needed. Applies the existing body of evidence-based practice and scientific knowledge in health care to nursing practice, ensuring that nursing care is delivered based on patient’s age-specific needs and clinical needs as described in the department's Scope of Service. Nursing ECMO Specialists work in the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit and communicate with physicians, perfusionists and other members of the healthcare team to interpret, adjust and complete treatment specific care for the ECMO patient. ECMO specialists are expected to perform required technical skills with efficiency, accuracy and safety while anticipating, troubleshooting, and managing crises and emergency situations according to policy and procedure. Performs scheduled, un-scheduled, and emergency ECLS in the hospital setting. Operates all ECMO equipment under the direction of MD/perfusion providers. Monitors and optimizes the ECMO circuit and related equipment during the management period. Accurately administers blood products and medications through the ECMO circuit when ordered. Manages any equipment when connected in-line with ECMO circuit. Management of ECLS during transport. Ensures continuous ECLS coverage. Attends Mandatory Quarterly Simulations. Main Line Fertility is seeking a PART TIME REGISTERED NURSE with recent Pre-Op/OR/PACU experience. This is a team centered environment that requires someone who can work collaboratively. Our physicians are experts in the field of reproductive endocrinology. Together with a dedicated team of nurses, lab professionals and administrative staff, they provide compassionate, one-on-one care that is personalized for every patient. We offer a full complement of services for reproductive health from male and female infertility and perform IVF and GYN related procedures. Main Line Fertility Center serves Bryn Mawr, Philadelphia and surrounding communities. HOURS: Monday, Wednesday and Friday and every other weekend, Saturday and Sunday usually from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Weekdays following a worked weekend will be and Tues and Thursday. Holiday rotation will be required. Ability to monitor patient as anesthesia wears off and evaluate patient Properly communicates any post-op care instructions to patient Demonstrates knowledge of patient management, including: being available from anesthesia during intubation and extubation, assisting as needed in sudden changes in patient condition, and being readily available to assist as directed. Under minimum supervision, directs and/or provides professional nursing care for an assigned group of patients across the age continuum (4 weeks to geriatric). Job Duties: Utilizes the nursing process to provide quality patient care according to established standards of care which includes planning, implementing, evaluating, and adjusting plan of care. Participates in the development of patient plan of care to include patient problems, goals, evaluations, and interventions; reports symptoms and significant changes in patient's condition to appropriate personnel Collaborates and coordinates patient's discharge planning needs and readiness for discharge with other members of the care team. Demonstrates appropriate application of age specific standards, policies, and procedures and guidelines in caring for adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients: follows age specific standards in administering medications based on patient's age; follows age specific standards of care during altered states of consciousness related to analgesia, conscious sedation or anesthesia; uses age specific standards, policies and procedures and guidelines to perform treatments and procedures that are routine for unit/clinic based on patient's age. Incorporates cultural and developmental needs into plan of care: in collaboration with the patient/family, and in a developmentally and culturally appropriate manner, implements the plan of care; demonstrates competency in the provision of nursing care according to established standards of nursing practice and in developmentally appropriate manner. Demonstrates critical thinking skills, ability to provide and delegate appropriate activities to staff based on patient assessment, complexity of the task, level of competence of staff and/or certification/licensure requirements and the requirements to deliver care in a safe efficient manner maximizing positive outcomes for the patient. Provides documentation of patient care in the patient record according to established standards of nursing care. Participates in performance improvement activities which include collecting, analyzing data to identify quantifiable measures to maintain quality and the promotion of desired outcomes.
