Serves as the primary contact and resource for the nursing services required for wound care from the time of admission through follow up care. Participates in the selection of wound and ostomy care products. Oversees the enhancement of wound and ostomy EHR documentation. Delegates staff education opportunities to appropriate department members. Develops strategies for frontline patient safety engagement and accountability. Leads efforts associated with new knowledge and innovation including interdisciplinary quality initiatives (unit specific quality improvement projects, Patient Satisfaction, and Culture of Safety surveys), evidence based practice projects and clinical research. LICENSES AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS Required Licenses and/or Certifications Current Virginia state license as a Registered Nurse or Registered Nurse holding a valid Compact State license. Wound and ostomy certification via the Wound Ostomy Continence Nursing Certification Board required within one year of hire. CPR Training required and/or must be obtained within 45 days of hire.
