Location SAINT LOUIS, MO 63110 Scheduled Hours 40 Position Summary Position performs duties associated with the coordination and implementation of research study/projects, data collection, and the management of data generated by study protocols. Coordinates with multidisciplinary teams to maintain continuity of care and human subject protection with a commitment to research integrity. Job Description Primary Duties & Responsibilities: Works under the Principal Investigator’s (PI) guidance to meet the research objectives of the project. Assists with study start-up activities including myIRB applications for initial review, modifications/amendments, continuing reviews and reportable events. Provides direct patient care, including assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patients; documents, collects data and assists physicians. Works with research team to identify, screen and enroll study subjects. Ensures protocol requirements are met including but not limited to: direct contact with research participants; collection of basic health information; coordination of study related procedures; handling, processing and shipping of research specimens; organization of source documentation and data entry. Prepares/submits reportable event reports to sponsor(s), IRB and regulatory agencies in accordance with the study protocol and established policies, procedures and regulations. Collaborates with sponsor’s research associates during monitoring activities by providing study documentation, data clarifications and reports as necessary. Provides oversight of administration of medications, study drugs, or study interventions, as appropriate. Administers investigational products in approved setting. Educates staff nurses caring for research patients by providing necessary information about the research study including intervention, potential adverse events and required study procedures. Responsible for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of residents/patients. Interprets and enforces policies and procedures. Plans nursing services on the unit(s) within the limit of existing policies. Develops effective work methods and acts as a team leader and mentor to subordinate staff. Position Responsibilities: Administers medications and treatments and documents per facility policy. Administers treatments/medications as ordered by physician, and documents same and closely monitors effectiveness. Performs comprehensive assessment of resident/patient including development, implementation and evaluation of a written plan of care for each resident/patient. Monitors care being rendered to patient/resident by LPN & CNA (including agency staff) to ensure that all personnel are providing care to the resident as stated by the plan of care and facility policy. Monitors staff interaction keeps patient and families advised of patient/resident progress and response to care plan during their shift.
