Reports issues or concerns appropriately and timely and keeps leader informed of unusual patient or staff occurrences; changes in staffing requirements/patient acuity or complexity; and any possible risk-related incidents. Assists in developing roles and responsibilities of all direct reports by fostering a culture of talent management & development within area of specialty. Works with leaders to identify, develop & retain high potential employees by actively engaging them through delegation, stretch assignments, supervision & educational programs. Encourages nursing staff to advance through the Professional Development program. Monitors productivity and flexes appropriately and meets or exceeds financial targets. The ANM works to improve employee engagement through collaboration; holds staff accountable, meets one-on-one with staff, and acknowledges team members for great performance. Participates in and initiates the corrective action process when necessary and ensures that policies are fairly and consistently followed and enforced. Demonstrates active support of the hospital Process Improvement (PI) philosophies and aligns departmental goals to support PI initiatives. Works closely with Direct or Indirect leaders in developing quality improvement/PI processes to assure safe, quality patient outcomes and implements Evidence-Based Best Practices and is actively involved in at least one policy or process improvement committee.
