Job Summary Job Profile Summary Provides clinical direction for all aspects of patient care in an acute inpatient setting, fostering patient/family centered care. Unit Description The Surgical Telemetry Unit (STU) is a 30-bed unit caring for a diverse, adult patient population. Patients on the Surgical Tele have health issues primarily requiring surgical interventions but there is also a subset of medical diagnoses. Diagnoses include but are not limited to the treatment for bowel obstruction, GI bleed, Cancers in need of surgical intervention, traumatic injuries, general surgery populations as well as medical diagnoses of sepsis, Cardiac telemetry needs, renal failure, and diabetic emergencies. Strong collaboration and teamwork between physicians, nurses, nursing assistants, therapy, case management and social work is encouraged to optimize patient care. All nursing staff on Surgical Telemetry must be trained in telemetry monitoring, stroke care, and must be or obtain ACLS certification upon hire. Sign-On Bonus This position is bonus eligible.
