ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: • Utilizes the nursing process by demonstrating appropriate assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of residents wound and skin integrity • Collecting and documentation of residents’ skin status including medical history. • Wound care prevention and prevention through plan of care • Sets priorities for nursing action for wound care and prevention • Communicates with physicians regarding resident wound needs • Initiates nutritional interventions to ensure that residents with wounds are provided nutrition to promote wound healing. • Performs direct resident care utilizing established procedure, policies, and standards • Administer treatments and procedures in accordance with the physician’s orders • Maintains the comfort, privacy, and dignity of each residents while performing treatments • Communicates and interacts effectively, courteously, and tactfully with residents, visitors, family members, peers, and supervisors • Conducts rounds frequently to ensure that residents with incontinence are receiving pericare and preventative ointments timely. Discipline non-compliant staff accordingly with consultation from the DON • Performs duties in a safe manner in accordance with established policies and procedures • Performs all job responsibilities in accordance with prescribed safety and infection control procedures including thorough hand washing, use of disposable gloves and proper disposal of soiled material EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: 1.
