Reports must be submitted immediately when the reporting person has reasonable cause to believe that abandonment, abuse, financial exploitation, or neglect of a vulnerable adult has occurred. 6. Teaches the patient and family/caregiver self-care techniques as appropriate. Provides medication, diet and other instructions as ordered by the physician and recognizes and utilizes opportunities for health counseling with patients and families/caregivers. Works in concert with the interdisciplinary group. 7. Provides and maintains a safe environment for the patient. 8. Assists the patient and family/caregiver and other team members in providing continuity of care. 9. Works in cooperation with the family/caregiver and hospice interdisciplinary group to meet the emotional needs of the patient and family/caregiver. 10. Attends interdisciplinary group meetings. Supervises ancillary personnel and delegates responsibilities when required. 4. Job Description UC Health is hiring a full time Registered Nurse (RN) for the ortho trauma department for the Day Shift, 7 AM-7:30 PM at University of Cincinnati Medical Center. This 28-bed unit works with the patient population admitted from the ER, PACU, and SICU. Nursing care is concentrated around recovering from traumatic injury with focus on mobility, patient education, monitoring intake and outputs and pain management. This unit will also be working with ortho patients recovering from total knee, hip, and shoulder replacements as well as spinal surgery cases. UCMC is the area’s only Adult Level 1 Trauma Center in the region. Our patients arrive from injuries sustained by motor vehicle crashes, gunshot wounds and unforeseen accidents.
