This position may be assigned or rotate between any or all of the Mille Lacs Health System clinics Day Shift with Rotating Weekends Summary Clinical Assistants (CA) are multi skilled to provide support for clinic operations within the scope of practice under the direct supervision of the clinic Manager. CA's have knowledge of and utilize appropriate age-related protocols relating to the physical and psychological needs of clients from infant/child through geriatrics. Reception/Clerical task which include but is not limited to: Scheduling appointments, verification of insurance, checking in for appointments, coordinating patient referrals, coordinate insurance medication prior authorizations, ordering of supplies and equipment and restocking of supplies and accurate documentation of phone calls and patient care. Proper storage, handling and administration of vaccines. Be able to determine vaccines appropriate for patient based on past vaccine records, age and the CDC and MDH vaccine schedules. Perform and document Phlebotomy, EKGs and waived lab testing. Assist the Physician/PA/CNP with continuance of patient care by coordinating diagnostic testing and referrals to inside and outside providers. Data Collection for Quality initiatives. Serve on various committees and task forces as assigned. Willing to train and provided a productive learning environment for students, externs and new staff. Required Education and Experience BLS Certification Valid driver's license required; travel between clinic locations may be necessary. Certification or registration from an accrediting body such as AAMA, AMT, NHA, NCCT (must successfully pass certified medical assistant exam with six months of hire) or possess a Minnesota practical nursing license through the Minnesota board of nursing . Knowledge of nursing principles, policies, procedures and medical ethics equivalent to years of experience. Excellent communication skills across disciplines and at various levels. Responsible for holding the pager for the transplant service during daytime hours when on service. Responsible for responding to communications in a respectful and timely manner and escalating acute care concerns for patients. The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) positions are part of a collaborative team consisting of Attending Physicians, Fellows, and a team of advanced practice providers both NPs and PAs. The APP team is highly respected, we are seen as the go to team for the attendings. We actively participate in the education of fellows and visiting residents. Responsibilities for this role include: receiving sign-out from overnight team. The RN First Assistant directly assists the surgeon and practices under the supervision of the surgeon during the intraoperative phase. The RN First Assistant must adhere to standardized procedures and not concurrently function as a scrub nurse. Recognizes and considers age-specific needs of patients. Effectively communicates and interacts with patients, families, staff and members of the community from diverse backgrounds. Recognizes situations which require the immediate attention of a physician, and initiates life-saving procedures when necessary. Facilitates the coordination of inpatient and outpatient care and services as needed. Facilitates collaboration between providers and coordination of community resources. Ensures compliance with legal, regulatory and clinical policies and procedures. Participates in quality improvement initiatives. Provides and coordinates patient teaching and counseling. Required Qualifications: Current and unrestricted RN licensure in state of practice Current Driver's License, vehicle insurance, and access to a dependable vehicle or public transportation Pay Range $71,677 - $107,516 annual total cash target pay $41.35 - $62.03 per visit point $34.46 - $51.69 hourly rate Annual total cash compensation for this role assumes full-time employment (40 weekly hours) at full productivity and generally follows the range above. Total cash compensation includes earnings from per visit point pay and hourly pay and is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience and may increase over time based on productivity and performance in the role. This role receives two types of compensation depending on the work being performed. When conducting visits, you will be paid per visit point rate compensation. Your per visit pay will be calculated by multiplying your per visit point rate by the productivity points you accrue for various types of visits. Each type of visit is assigned a certain number of productivity points that is inclusive of 'direct' and 'indirect' patient care activities. Visits are assigned based on patient and business needs. The number of visits performed each week will vary based on individual productivity targets and the productivity points assigned to the visits performed. You will be paid your hourly rate for certain non-visit activities such as orientation. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
