DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Provides basic nursing care that includes actions that meet psychosocial needs and communication needs within the nursing assistant’s scope of practice. Work under direct supervision of MD, PA-C, NP to provide excellent patient care to all clients that come to Idaho Falls Pulmonary. Performs basic patient care responsibilities considering needs specific to the standard of care for patient’s age. Notifies appropriate licensed personnel when patient complains of pain or vital signs that are less than or greater then acceptable ranges. Maintains awareness of the needs of the pediatric, geriatric and general patient population. Provides explanation to patient and family prior to administering care to patient; answers questions within scope of practice. Communicates appropriately and clearly to nurse, co-workers and physicians. Demonstrates an ability to be flexible, organized and function under stressful situations. In this role you will partner with the rest of the clinical team to provide patients the highest quality of care. In this role, a Medical Assistant is an employee who performs a wide variety of patient care services under the direct supervision of a registered nurse, advanced practice nurse (APN) or physician. Such services can involve therapeutic and/or diagnostic procedures.
