Minimum requirements: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with ANCC or AANP certification or physician assistant program. Successful completion of an approved Nurse Practitioner or PA program. Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situation. CPR and ACLS certified and must maintain certification during employment. NIH Stroke Scale certification obtained within 3 months of employment commencement. Preferable characteristics: Previous critical care experience (ie. ICU or Emergency Department).
