RN Staff Nurse - Emergency

Adult unit patient capacity ranges from 17 to 25 private and shared beds. Our inpatient care goes beyond medication management. Our care includes specialized nursing care, care management, peer support services, multiple groups throughout the day, animal therapy, and garden therapy. Nursing is an essential part of the interdisciplinary treatment team that collaborates with the patient to create a journey to recovery. Responsibilities Provides patient care within an assigned department/unit Functions as a member of the health care team in collaboration with and under the direction of the clinical manager or designee Adheres to the relevant Standards and Scope of Practice for the Registered Nurse Performs all aspects of the nursing process: Assesses, analyzes, plans, implements, and evaluates patient care Follows established patient care standards set by Legacy Health System, including standards for patient assessment & patient transfer. Qualifications Education: As required by licensure. BSN or degree in progress strongly preferred. BSN may be required for specific assignments; experienced RNs without a BSN may be hired based on clinical experience with approval of the site CNO. Experience: One-year registered nursing experience or completion of either the Legacy Health RN Residency program or a nursing program that is equivalent in content, curriculum and duration. Additional clinical experience requirements may vary dependent upon the specific department in which the position is utilized. Skills: Demonstrated ability of positive interpersonal and communication skills with colleagues, patients, families, physicians and the community. Keyboard skills and ability to navigate electronic systems applicable to job functions. Licensure Current applicable state RN license required. BLS for Healthcare Providers from the American Heart Association required. Pay Range USD $54.37 - USD $81.21 /Hr. The position works closely with mental health, medical, and administrative teams to ensure consistent and compliant psychiatric services. The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner also seeks clinical consultation and supervision as required by collaborative practice protocols. Key Responsibilities Provide psychiatric evaluations, treatment, follow-up care, and medication management within professional and regulatory standards. Monitor effectiveness and side effects of psychotropic medications and provide ongoing patient education and informed consent. Collaborate with mental health, medical, and administrative teams to ensure coordinated and consistent psychiatric services. Complete timely, accurate clinical documentation and participate in required meetings, consultations, and on-call coverage. Support crisis intervention, referrals, transfers, and emergency or involuntary treatment processes as allowed by scope of practice and guidelines. Qualifications & Requirements Education Master in Science of Nursing or Post-Master’s Certificate from an accredited nurse practitioner program with a specialty in psychiatric mental health across the lifespan. Experience Minimum one (1) year of experience as a PMHNP required, or may be waived if approved by Vice President of Advanced Practice Program. Corrections experience in a PMHNP role preferred. Licenses/Certifications Unrestricted current license to practice as a PMHNP in the state of practice. Current board certification as a PMHNP. Current DEA Registration (unless Chief Psychiatric Officer determines it as optional). Current BLS certification. At Legacy Mount Hood, Joint Commission certified as a Primary Stroke Center, the 29-bed emergency department, remodeled in 2010, is a leading-edge 24/7 facility that handles everything, from minor medical issues in the 8 bed Ambulatory Care Unit, to acute emergencies. Caring for 50,000 patients yearly in Portland’s east county suburbs, approximately 30% of whom are pediatric patients, the highly skilled staff treats both children and adults in a compassionate, family-friendly environment and coordinates seamlessly with Randall Children's Hospital at Legacy Emanuel and Legacy Emanuel’s centers for traumatic injuries and advanced specialty care. Responsibilities Provides patient care within an assigned department/unit Functions as a member of the health care team in collaboration with and under the direction of the clinical manager or designee Adheres to the relevant Standards and Scope of Practice for the Registered Nurse Performs all aspects of the nursing process: Assesses, analyzes, plans, implements, and evaluates patient care Follows established patient care standards set by Legacy Health System, including standards for patient assessment & patient transfer. Qualifications Education: As required by licensure. BSN or degree in progress strongly preferred. BSN may be required for specific assignments; experienced RNs without a BSN may be hired based on clinical experience with approval of the site CNO. Experience: One-year registered nursing experience or completion of either the Legacy Health RN Residency program or a nursing program that is equivalent in content, curriculum and duration. Additional clinical experience requirements may vary dependent upon the specific department in which the position is utilized. Skills: Demonstrated ability of positive interpersonal and communication skills with colleagues, patients, families, physicians and the community. Keyboard skills and ability to navigate electronic systems applicable to job functions. Licensure Current applicable state RN license required. BLS for Healthcare Providers from the American Heart Association required. Pay Range USD $54.37 - USD $81.21 /Hr.
