Assist the physician in Mohs surgery, medical, cosmetic, allergy, and/or laser procedures. Preps surgical/exam rooms for all procedures and properly cleans exam rooms after every visit. Properly assists provider in recording prescribed treatments, medications, lab requisitions, biopsies, cultures, photos, prescriptions, prior authorization, obtaining consents, and/or procedures within established guidelines. Consults and coordinates with health care team members to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans. Conducts pre- and post-operative education with patients. Serves as the communication liaison to family and members of the operating team. Takes and monitors patients’ vital signs. Ensures that the correct procedure is being performed on the correct patient. Preps operating room for patient/procedure and inventories all items both pre- and post-surgery. Prepares and administers (orally, subcutaneously, and/or through an IV) and records prescribed medications. Records all care information concisely, accurately, and completely, in a timely manner, in the appropriate format and on the appropriate forms. Provides accurate care and handling of specimens. Observes and enforces strict standards of asepsis. Selects and handles instruments and supplies used for the operation, passing them to surgeon. Cleans OR, cleans/sterilizes instruments (autoclave) post-surgery. Reports adverse reactions to medications or treatments in accordance with the policy regarding the administration of medications by a licensed registered nurse. Responds to life-saving situations based upon nursing standards and protocol. Assists with suturing patients after the surgery, including but not limited to helping to control bleeding and providing wound exposure. Initiates corrective action whenever information from monitoring equipment shows adverse symptomatology. Monitors patients’ physical and emotional well-being throughout the care continuum and provides basic, bedside care. Initiates patient education plan, as prescribed by physician. Teaches patients and significant others how to manage their post-treatment home care needs, self-administration of medication and rehabilitation. Working knowledge and application of HIPAA & OSHA compliance. May be asked to do additional tasks for office and patient care when working in office as needed. Other duties as assigned by supervisor on an as needed basis. Qualifications Pass the NCLEX-PN or state approved comparison. Associate or bachelor’s degree in nursing. Active LPN license in the state working in. Prior experience working in an outpatient surgery clinical environment strongly preferred. Experience using EMR software and patient scheduling systems preferred. If in allergy field and/or office, experience with allergy testing (skin prick, patch, and spirometry) preferred. Must be computer savvy and familiar with Outlook. Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Excellent patient relations and customer services skills. Strong follow up stills and ownership/accountability Must be professional, reliable, and dedicated employee. Open availability to work during office and/or scheduled hours. As a member of our multidisciplinary Heart Team, you will work alongside interventional cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, imaging specialists, nurses, and APPs to deliver comprehensive care to patients with advanced valvular and structural heart disease. Practice Locations This position provides care across multiple Virtua locations, including: · Virtua Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Camden, NJ · Virtua Health Structural Heart & Valve Clinics in Cherry Hill and Moorestown, NJ The APP will work throughout the continuum of care, managing patients in both the outpatient clinic environment and the inpatient hospital setting. About the Opportunity This unique role combines outpatient valve clinic management with inpatient structural heart care coordination. The APP will participate in all aspects of the patient journey, including initial consultation, diagnostic workup, multidisciplinary Heart Team evaluation, procedural planning, hospitalization, discharge coordination, and follow-up. Key Responsibilities Outpatient Structural Heart & Valve Clinic · Evaluate and manage patients with severe aortic , mitral, and tricuspid valve diseases, as well as other structural heart conditions. · Participate in new patient consultations and follow-up visits. · Coordinate diagnostic testing, imaging reviews, and procedural workups. · Participate in multidisciplinary Heart Team conferences. · Manage pre-procedure and post-procedure care. · Collaborate with referring physicians and community cardiologists. Inpatient Structural Heart Service · Participate in inpatient consultations. · Coordinate care for patients undergoing structural heart interventions. · Manage peri-procedural admissions and post-procedure recovery. · Facilitate discharge planning and transitions of care. · Coordinate multidisciplinary communication among cardiology, cardiac surgery, nursing, and case management teams. Program Focus The APP will support patients undergoing advanced structural heart procedures, including: · Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR) · Mitral Transcatheter Edge-to-Edge Repair (M-TEER) · Tricuspid Transcatheter Edge-to-Edge Repair (T-TEER) · Transcatheter Tricuspid Valve Replacement (TTVR) · Balloon Aortic Valvuloplasty · PFO/ASD closure · Emerging structural heart technologies and clinical trials Preferred Qualifications · Experience in cardiology, cardiovascular surgery, interventional cardiology, structural heart, heart failure, or critical care preferred · Strong clinical assessment, communication, and patient education skills · Ability to thrive in a collaborative, multidisciplinary cardiovascular environment In compliance with New Jersey pay transparency laws, all physician roles include a posted minimum base salary. The minimum base salary for this position is $128,125.00 per year. Final compensation will be competitive and commensurate with experience, qualifications, and prevailing market factors.
