Primary tasks are to assist the Health Center Manager at the site. LVN's may be required to draw and collect blood samples from patients and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis. Finally, the LVN position provides or facilitates the provision of information needed by both patients and clinicians. Furthermore, they ensure a smooth and well-connected patient flow. The LVN reports to the Health Center Manager. Responsibilities SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES: Works closely with the Health Center Manager and other members of the clinic management team to: Under the supervision of the Health Center Manager will provide oversight for medical support staff, including providing feedback for performance reviews. Supports the quality improvement and compliance goals of the health center by ensuring that UHC meets required regulations as defined by BPHC and other contracted entities. Review physician orders, labs results and care instructions with patients, answering questions and administering treatment under the scope of their prospective nursing license. Communicates with appropriate personnel as necessary, to examine, revise and evaluate inner-clinic processes to promote efficiency In-services provider and nursing staff as needed regarding procedures, forms, and procedural changes, etc. Will assist in supply orders and inventory control. (McKesson, Cardinal, VFC) Provides oversight for clinic medical support staff in the absence of the Health Center Manager. Provides prompt medical support; promotes a smooth patient flow; collects and records data accurately; maintains order of exam rooms, equipment and supplies Provides basic education and information to patients, making sure patients' questions are answered and anxieties alleviated and interfaces with community-oriented activities and staff Achieves the organizational mission to provide health care access for all the members of the community. Helps make sure patients and families get the care they need when they need it. Consistently and openly communicates with the Health Center Manager and all staff. Must be able to do duties as assigned. Abides by Rules of Confidentiality. PERFORMANCE AREA 1: Nursing Duties Supports patient access by screening walk-in patients and routes appropriately. Meets regulatory and continuity of care by utilizing standing orders and established screening guides under supervision of physicians. Supports the internal and external patient care by taking responsibility for outpatient medical chart using SOAP method of charting. Supports patient access by providing telephone advice regarding care per health center protocol. Supports the efforts of the providers by supervising the functions in treatment room and is primary in this regard. Supports patient care by assisting the physician and/or provider in procedures and pelvic exams Supports patient care by administering medication and treatment ordered by physicians and/or provider staff. Qualifications EDUCATION: Completed LVN training program from and accredited school.
