How you make a difference Under the direction of the MAT Medical Director, the Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) delivers comprehensive clinical services to individuals enrolled in the Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) program. The LVN provides approproate medical and supportive care, including administering injections, taking vitals, coordinating labs and pharmacy needs, and facilitating communication with psychiatric and medical providers. Additionally, the LVN promotes patient wellness by offering education and leading health-related classes. Key Responsibilities Assists in the evaluation of patients’ physical, psychological, and social needs; collaborates with RNs and other healthcare staff to help develop individualized treatment plans. Carries out treatment programs, administers medications (including IV therapy when certified), performs diagnostic tests, and assists with medical procedures following established protocols and safety standards. Counts and secures controlled substances and medical equipment; responds to health emergencies and codes in line with standard procedures. Aids in implementing nutrition and therapeutic diet plans, provides patient education, and utilizes resources for optimal patient care outcomes. Documents patient care using SOAP notes, communicates effectively with medical staff and departments, and attends required meetings and training sessions. Additional Details Hours are: 1000-2230 Schedule is Sun, Mon, Tues or Mon, Tues, Weds Qualifications & Requirements Education Graduate from an accredited school of nursing. Experience Prefer a minimum of one (1) year clinic experience Licenses/Certifications Have and maintain current licensure as a Licensed Practical/Licensed Vocational Nurse within the state of employment. How you make a difference The LVN Travel supports the delivery of patient care within assigned correctional healthcare settings as part of a traveling team. This role assists with assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care under the supervision of Registered Nurses. The position guides patient teaching and clinical activities based on demonstrated competencies and scope of practice. This role adapts to different clinical environments while supporting safe, compliant, and consistent care delivery. Key Responsibilities Assist with patient assessment, care planning, and implementation of individualized treatment programs under RN supervision. Administer medications, obtain diagnostic tests, and carry out medical plans according to practitioner orders and protocols. Provide clinical care and respond to health emergencies using established procedures, safety techniques, and standard precautions. Assignments can vary by location, but most shifts are 12-hour days or nights, with some 8-hour options and weekend rotations depending on the site. Candidates must hold an active California nursing license in good standing and have at least three years of nursing experience; correctional experience is preferred but not required. Overall, this role is best suited for nurses who are adaptable, team-oriented, and comfortable stepping into diverse correctional environments to support patient care where it’s needed most. Pay Range: Pay is based on experience. How you make a difference The Nurse Practitioner provides on-site medical services by examining referred patients, conducting clinics, rounds, and responding to urgent and emergency situations. The role delivers ongoing medical care by diagnosing conditions, prescribing treatment plans, managing chronic care, and providing Medication Assisted Treatment services, including induction, follow-up, and medication management. The position documents care, orders and interprets labs, adheres to established policies and formularies, and supports continuity and standards of care within the facility. Key Responsibilities Examine patients, conduct sick call, chronic care clinics, and infirmary rounds, and respond to health emergencies. Diagnose conditions, prescribe and manage treatment plans, and provide ongoing medical and MAT-related care. Conduct MAT assessments, inductions, follow-up appointments, and manage medication continuation and titration. Order and interpret laboratory tests and drug screens and utilize appropriate in-house and referral resources. Document patient encounters, maintain confidentiality, and comply with established policies, procedures, and standards of care. Additional Details You should have strong experience managing chronic illnesses, substance use disorders, and Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT), with the ability to independently assess, diagnose, and prescribe as needed. Clinical responsibilities include sick call, chronic care, CIWA/COWS assessments, MAT inductions and medication management, lab interpretation, urgent care, wound care, and basic suturing. Qualifications & Requirements Education A graduate of an accredited school of nursing An advanced degree in an approved and accredited Nurse Practitioner program. Experience Prior medical/surgical and/or emergency/trauma experience and corrections experience is preferred. Must have the patience and tact to deal with the inmate population and ability to work effectively in the corrections environment. Scheduling flexibility is also required to be able to rotate hours and shifts, if needed, and to be called during emergency situations to provide coverage.
