A Brief Overview Facilitates movement of patients to appropriate and alternate levels of care as needed and has the authority to facilitate the opening of transitional beds/unit in order to maximize patient throughput and ease excess capacity. This also includes patient access, transfer center and system wide coordination. Takes physician orders and completes admission assessments and other admission activities in times of unusually high activity. Manages fluctuations in patient census utilizing productivity targets, staffing grids and appropriate resources. What You Will Do Manages patient flow and manages routine clinical operations through procurement of resources necessary to provide patient care. Works collaboratively with the charge nurse to ensure each area is staffed appropriately. Assumes the role of leadership in the absence of Administration during after hours, weekends, and holidays.
