There are no other dates available at this time. The division’s 64 bed Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) is designated by the state of Illinois as a Level III NICU and provides the highest level of care to the most critically ill newborns in the region. The division cares for more than 2,000 infants each year. As one of the top programs in the State and region, we received transfers from 45 hospitals last year and we consistently receive the most referrals in Illinois from other Level IV NICU facilities. Min Qualifications: 1+ years nursing (RN) experience required This position is not open to new graduates. 1+ years NICU RN nursing strongly preferred. Bachelor’s degree in nursing or higher preferred; Associates degree in nursing with equivalent experience in lieu of BSN accepted with expectations to complete BSN. Current licensure as a registered nurse in the State of Illinois. Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association (BLSC). Responsible for the delivery of direct and indirect patient care for the Medical-Surgical Outpatient and/or Inpatients receiving surgical and/or invasive procedure through the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation for adolescents, adults and older adults. Communicates with physicians, co-workers and/or nursing director, as appropriate about the patient’s clinical condition, including results of diagnostic studies and symptomatololgy. Is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment. Works with other departments to provide a continuum of care and co-workers to provide continuous, quality patient care, efficient patient flow and unit maintenance and organization. Responsible for adherence to regulations, standards and hospital or unit policies and procedures. Responsible for participation in Performance Improvement activities, unit meetings and in-services. Acts as a resource for other personnel as appropriate. Qualifications EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING 1. Current and valid state RN License. 2. Current BCLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current. 3. ACLS 30 days upon hire and maintain current. 4. Minimum of one year experience in an acute care or outpatient surgery setting or G.I. lab. 5. Completed Moderate Sedation competency within 30 days upon hire required.
