Professional nursing practices, requiring specialized knowledge, judgment, and skills are performed in accordance Bayhealth policies. After competency verification, the Licensed Practical Nurse may deliver patient care services to the adult, and geriatric populations. The care may include, but is not limited to, the following: obtaining and recording in the medical record: blood pressure, pulse, temperature and pulse oximetry, drawing blood, EKG, administration of oral medications, transporting patients, obtain urine and stool specimens, perform point of care testing, assist with procedures consistent with the scope of the employee’s position (i.e.. dressing changes, dressing, grooming, toileting, ambulating, transferring, observing, and reporting the general well-being of the person(s) to whom they are providing care). Responsibilities: The LPN must read and interpret documents such as doctors’ orders, medication names, and lab tests. Perform focal assessments for established inpatients. Provide general basic nursing care, such as positioning patients, lifting and turning, assisting in use of bedpan, commode, urinal or bathroom, and weighing. Provide exceptional customer service that aligns with the Planetree philosophy. Perform routine, uncomplicated treatment procedures including enemas, application of hot and cold compresses, dressing changes, wound cleansing, obtaining vital signs including orthostatic vital signs and rectal temperatures and splinting of extremities. Collects and records intake and output. Prepare and administer oral medications as ordered by the physician or APC. Review medication history with patient. Assist with minor medical/surgical procedures in the practice setting. Performance of venipuncture for the purpose of blood and to monitor the patient’s condition before, during and after the withdrawal of blood. Transport patients using wheelchair or stretcher within offices and to/from vehicles. Assist those patients requiring help with ambulation. Identify the need for patient education and advise patients on their treatment plan. Demonstrate the ability to recognize abnormal lab results. Document treatment records for each patient. Immediately report any observed changes in condition or behavior of patients and documents any care given in an acceptable medical legal fashion. Immediately reports any unusual incidents. Set up for suturing and procedures, using sterile technique; dismantles procedure set, caring for soiled instruments safely and correctly. Maintains competency in specialized testing for Occupational Health (Hearing Booth, Fit testing, Titmus, PFT, Ishahara, Drug screen collections, Breath Alcohol Testing, DS Hair Collections and any other required testing.) Maintain patient confidentiality; comply with HIPAA and compliance guidelines established for the practice. Ensure compliance with Joint Commission regulations and other safety requirements; this includes disposal of used sharps and contaminated materials, as well as, safe storage of medications. Re-order supplies as required and within budgetary limitations. Maintain work station cleanliness and restock linen and supplies to exam rooms; provides general cleaning, including emptying trash, straightening waiting area, etc. Washes and changes stretcher or exam table linen and empties dirty laundry. Demonstrate the ability to reflect knowledge of current professional practice standards, laws and regulations, evaluate their own nursing practice in relation to professional practice standards, relevant statutes and regulations. Engage in an annual self-assessment, identifying areas of strength and areas requiring professional development Seek and reflect on constructive feedback from other members of the healthcare team. Acts to achieve performance goals. Acquire and maintain current knowledge and competency in nursing care. Participate in ongoing educational activities to acquire and validate knowledge (i.e. BLS, NAPPI). Seek experiences that reflect current clinical competencies and new clinical information. Maintain professional affiliations. Attend regularly scheduled staff meeting. Perform all other tasks and projects assigned by the Charge Nurse/ Clinical Coordinator. Job Description Nemours is seeking a Transport Registered Nurse! We are currently hiring for night shift 7P-7A. Schedules will include every third weekend and every third holiday. The Nemours Pediatric Critical Care Transport Team (CCTT) operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week to stabilize and transport sick and injured children. Our teams consist of two to four health care professionals, of which two are typically nurses. Direct medical command is supplied by board-certified pediatric intensivists. The CCTT nurse assumes responsibility and is accountable for the delivery and management of expert, specialty care of the critically ill or injured neonate, infant, child, or adolescent during inter-facility pediatric transports. Principal admitting diagnoses includes prematurity, respiratory illnesses, neurological disorders and trauma patients. The team uses specially-designed equipment to maintain or exceed the level of care provided by referring facilities, to include multi-parameter vital-sign monitors, high-flow oxygen delivery units, mechanical ventilators, Nitric Oxide delivery units, cooling units, compact infusion pumps and defibrillator/external pacemakers. Advanced procedures performed by CCTT staff include vascular access (intravenous and intraosseous), endotracheal intubation, chest decompression and advanced airway management. In addition to performing inter-hospital transports, the CCTT staff assists with patient care in the PICU, NICU, and ED, and serves as resources to other nursing units within the hospital. Job Description Nemours is seeking Registered Nurse for our 4 West Unit. Schedule consists of casual, 48 hours per the six week block minimum, one 12 hour weekend per block and two holidays per year. Join Nemours Pediatric Nursing! 4 West is a 24-four-bed limited-stay unit that typically cares for general medical surgical patients whose care is driven by protocols. The unit consists of single patient care rooms, which can also be isolation rooms. The goal of the unit is to provide very high-quality, high-value patient care within a 72-hour time frame. Each patient room is equipped with oxygen, compressed air and suction, along with state-of-the-art cardiorespiratory bedside monitors and computers that enable the health care team to access a patient’s electronic medical record. These computers are also used in the barcoding administration of medications which ensures patient safety by verifying that the correct medication is given to the appropriate child. Family-centered care rounds are performed daily to assure an interprofessional approach and partnership with the patient and family The primary role of the Registered Nurse is to implement the patient care delivery model for the patient and their family. Additionally the registered nurse is responsible and accountable for assessing, planning, providing and evaluating, the care provided to assigned patients. Additional Requirements You must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing. BSN preferred, must complete BSN within three years of hire Inpatient Experience Preferred Must be eligible for Delaware State license (or compact license).
