Wound Care Nurse RN Classification Non-exempt Reports to Director of Nursing and Assistant Director of Nursing Summary/Objective: In keeping with our organization’s goal of improving the lives of the Guests we serve, the Wound Care Nurse RN plays a critical role in providing superior customer service and nursing care to all Guests. The Wound Care Nurse RN is responsible for performing skin treatments for all guests under their care. This position will obtain treatment orders from attending physicians and assist with modifying the treatment regimen in accordance with established policies and procedures. The Wound Care Nurse will provide supervision of staff and will safeguard the health, safety and welfare of all Guests under their care by following applicable laws, regulations, and established nursing policies and procedures. Consults with Nursing team concerning assessment evaluations and assist in planning and developing the skin care treatment to be performed. 2. Initiate requests for consultation or referral. 3. Examines the Guest and their records and discerns between normal and abnormal findings in order to recognize when to refer the Guest to a physician for evaluation, supervision or directions. 4. May act as a Unit Nurse when directed. 5. Provides supervision to C.N.A’s and all subordinate staff which includes checking their work to ascertain that assignments have been completed. 6. Administer medications within the scope of practice of the R.N. Licensure. 7. Maintain a current report of narcotics received and used. 8. Carry out direct contemporaneous charting in your shift. 9. Chart detailed evaluations of each Guest that reflect his/her condition and progress per policy. 10. Ensure that Guest care plans are being followed and asses each Guest’s status in accord with their care plan. 11. Round with physicians when needed. 12. Reports all hazardous conditions, damaged equipment, accidents/incidents and supply issues to appropriate persons. 18. Participate in compliance trainings as scheduled and adhere to compliance plan Supervisory Responsibility: This position has direct supervisor responsibilities for Certified Nurse Aides and other personnel assigned. Work Environment: This job operates in a health care setting. This role requires regular walking to various locations around the facility while pulling or pushing carts. This position works mostly in the Guest care areas as well as in occasional outside weather conditions. This role may also come into contact with patients who may have contagious illnesses. Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and stooping on a regular basis. The employee must be able to lift and move items and patients weighing at least 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Position Type and Expected Hours of Work This position is part of a health care facility that is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Rotating shifts as well as holiday and work during inclement weather will be required. Travel No travel is expected for this position. Description: Vista Medical Center is seeking an experienced Cath Lab Registered Nurse to join our dedicated team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated RN who is eager to broaden their skills and gain valuable experience in a community hospital recognized as a certified Center of Excellence in multiple critical areas of patient care. Responsibilities: Assist cardiologists in performing diagnostic cardiac catheterizations and interventional procedures. Provide high-quality nursing care, including assessing and managing patient care in the Cardiac Cath Lab and interventional radiology as needed. Closely monitor patients for improvements or complications, administering medications as indicated, including moderate sedation during procedures. Demonstrate proficiency in all aspects of diagnostic and interventional catheterization, including circulating, monitoring, and recording procedures. Interpret 12-lead EKGs, manage cardiac medications, and provide emergency management of cardiac patients. Adhere to current clinical practice guidelines in cardiology and support secondary prevention efforts. Perform comprehensive nursing assessments to gather data and identify patient needs. Pre-procedure responsibilities include ensuring all clinically important aspects are checked before the patient enters the Cath Lab. Assist physicians during catheterization procedures, angioplasties, pacemaker implantation, and other cardiac procedures. Understand and operate special devices, including intra-aortic balloon pumps, rotablators, AngioJets, thrombus aspiration systems, cutting balloons, and filter wires. Qualifications, Desired Skills, and Experiences: A minimum of 1 year of experience in a cardiology catheterization lab is preferred; ICU experience is also preferred. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification is required. Experience in advanced cardiac rhythm interpretation and moderate sedation is required.
