Job Overview: The psychiatric inpatient 22 bed Dual Diagnosis Mental Illness DDMI unit specializes in treatment of patients with autism and intellectual disabilities and varying medical complexities. Trinitas is proud to be the only hospital in New Jersey with a separate unit to serve this population. The psychiatric inpatient 27 bed closed unit is an involuntary unit. Patients are committed to being inpatient for treatment and can have varying medical complexities. The psychiatric inpatient 21bed open unit is a voluntary unit. Patients are able to sign themselves in for treatment and can have varying medical complexities. Our staff are cross trained to work all the units within our inpatient behavioral health department. Scheduling Requirements Full Time Day 7:00AM- 7:30PM Monday – Friday, every other weekend and holiday rotation as needed by dept Qualifications Active New Jersey RN License or approved RN license required ASN or BSN required AHA BLS prior to start date required AHA ACLS within 6 months of hire Minimum one (1) year experience in Behavioral Health Nursing required Previous experience in Med Surg, Telemetry, and/or ER Nursing a plus Psychiatric-Mental Health certifications and/or national nursing certifications preferred Essential Functions: The Registered Nurse (RN) organizes and administers individualized age-specific professional care to patients within an assigned unit of the hospital in support of medical care. Responsibilities include: Oversee nursing compliance throughout the facility Monitor adherence to federal, state, and facility regulations and policies Conduct audits of nursing documentation, clinical records, and care processes Identify compliance concerns and areas requiring improvement Develop and follow up on corrective action plans Assist with survey preparation and regulatory reviews Monitor ongoing compliance following surveys, audits, or identified deficiencies Educate and support nursing staff regarding policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements Work closely with the Director of Nursing and facility leadership to maintain high standards of care Review incidents, documentation, and clinical practices for potential compliance issues Maintain appropriate compliance records and reports Help ensure policies and procedures remain current and are consistently followed Qualifications: Current New York State RN license Nursing home, skilled nursing, or long-term care experience strongly preferred Experience with compliance, auditing, quality assurance, nursing administration, or regulatory processes preferred Strong understanding of nursing documentation and regulatory requirements Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to work independently while collaborating closely with nursing and administrative leadership Schedule & Compensation This is a full-time, Monday through Friday position, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM , with an annual salary of $110,000–$120,000 , based on experience. Ditmas Park Nursing & Rehab is looking for a knowledgeable and detail-oriented nurse who can take ownership of nursing compliance and help maintain strong clinical and regulatory standards throughout the facility.
