Initiates the plan of care and makes necessary revisions as patient status and needs change. Develops a care plan that establishes goals, based on nursing diagnosis and incorporates palliative nursing actions. Includes the patient and the family in the planning process. Administers medications and treatments as prescribed by the physician. Attends and participates in Interdisciplinary Group Meetings. Completes, maintains and submits accurate and relevant clinical notes regarding patient's condition and care given. Supervises ancillary personnel and delegates responsibilities when required. Qualifications: Graduate of accredited school of nursing Current RN license in California Current CPR Certificate Registered nurses shall have a minimum of (a) one year of experience as a professional nurse within the last three years OR (b) have a baccalaureate degree in nursing from a program accredited by the National League for Nursing and current RN license. Minimum of two years experience, at least one of which is in the area of public, home care, or hospice nursing. Must have a valid CA driver license and an automobile that is insured in accordance with the requirements of state of California and is in good working order. Training and Evaluation: (Weight: 100%)The training and evaluation questionnaire is designed to measure the knowledge, skills, and abilities in job related areas which may include but not be limited to: Knowledge of medications and their appropriate use during antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and family planning phases of care. Knowledge of methods and procedures for assessing and managing the health of the pregnant/birthing person, risk factors, and potential complications. Knowledge of signs, symptoms, and potential effects or conditions that present risk to the pregnant person and/or their baby. Ability to communicate effectively with patients and their support people from diverse backgrounds. Ability to order and/or perform and interpret common laboratory tests and diagnostic imaging tests. Ability to perform a complete and accurate physical exam and standard medical procedures required for antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and family planning. Candidates must achieve a passing score on the Training and Evaluation questionnaire to continue in the selection process and will be placed on the confidential eligible list in rank order according to their final score. Additional selection processes may be conducted by the hiring department prior to making final hiring decisions. Certification The certification rule for the eligible list resulting from this examination will be the Rule of the List Scores. Eligible List/Score Report: A confidential eligible list of applicant names that have passed the civil service examination process will be created and used for certification purposes only. An examination score report will be established, so applicants can view the ranks, final scores and number of eligible candidates. Applicant information, including names of applicants on the eligible list, shall not be made public unless required by law. However, an eligible list shall be made available for public inspection, upon request, once the eligible list is exhausted or expired and referrals resolved. The eligible list/score report resulting from this civil service examination process is subject to change after adoption (e.g., as a result of appeals), as directed by the Human Resources Director or the Civil Service Commission.The duration of the eligible list resulting from this examination process will be of 6 months and may be extended with the approval of the Human Resources Director.
