Job Description Responsible for general nursing activities in the operating room. Serves as a role model for standards of professional practice (clinical, educational and leadership). Assists in career development planning for team members. Educates teams in new and existing department procedures and systems (information systems, fiscal responsibility, etc.). Manages patient care unit budget. Monitors expenditures and implements action plans when variances are present. Monitors performance metrics that support decision-making to achieve optimal performance levels. Ensures adherence to the established care delivery model, using knowledge of scope and standards of practice. Facilitates continual compliance for unit with the JC, CMS, New York State, DOH, Public Health Law, HIPPA regulations and System, hospital and department standards. Demonstrates current knowledge of clinical competencies for patient population of oversight in order to manage direct patient care. Maintains current knowledge of scope and standards of practice, healthcare legislation, and population health. Identifies and leads opportunities to make changes to improve operations across teams using evidence-based strategies and solutions. Performs related duties as required. Job Qualification Bachelors of Science Degree, required. Masters, preferred. New hires who are eligible but haven't applied yet must do so within 1 month of starting. If you're not eligible at the time of hire, you must begin working toward eligibility within 1 month and apply for approval within 3 months of becoming eligible Preferred Qualifications: 1+ years of clinical experience (family, geriatric, or home health preferred) Proficiency with electronic medical records and technology Ability to transport equipment weighing up to 30 pounds and navigate stairs as part of home visits Proven communication skills with geriatric or Medicare populations Compensation for this specialty generally ranges from $109,500 - $164,000. Total cash compensation includes base pay and bonus and is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience and may increase over time based on productivity and performance in the role.
