Overview Provides specialty medical services to patients within the scope of the supervising physician's medical specialty, and under the direction of the department director or division administrator. Assists with specific medical specialty and clinical operations, and counsels' patients regarding their health. May perform minor procedures within the scope of the supervising physician specialty practice licensed to practice medicine in the State of Florida/Georgia. Clinical Area: The APP II position provides moderate to complex specialty care primarily in an outpatient setting. May perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in accordance with the particular specialty practice, which may occur in an outpatient setting, or procedural area during normal business hours. Responsibilities Job Requirement: Obtains patient histories, performs physical examinations and/or diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, for which they are qualified to perform by training, and which fall within the normal scope of the specialty practice of the supervising physician May provide education and instruction. Reviews, prescribes and/or recommends medications and treatments to patients Assess patient health status including state of wellness, compliance with care plan and determines appropriate diagnostic and any therapeutic procedure required by their specialty. Provides follow up for established patients where continuity of care is required along with timely and appropriate referrals to physician and pharmacist for patients in need of further medical care and services. Enters pertinent clinical information in the patient's medical record in a timely and accurate manner and in accordance with established compliance billing guidelines. Documents and closes open encounters, MyChart messages, and other EMR communications in accordance with Institutional requirements. Participates in meetings, functions, events, and committees, as well as in a team of interdisciplinary health care providers. Overview For Inpatient assignment, assists the attending physician in the care and management of patients on Inpatient units within the hospital. Will make frequent bedside visits to assess the status of patients and direct care accordingly. May also see patients in the clinic environment. For Emergency Dept. assignment assists the Emergency Department physicians in the comprehensive medical care of the patient, in the emergency department and the chest pain observation unit and in any role the supervisory physician deems appropriate and consistent with applicable law, hospital regulation and licensure and clinical privileges. The incumbent will consult with the supervisory physician to determine the most appropriate care for patients. Acute Care ARNP or PA Required. For Clinic assignment, under supervision of an attending physician this position will provide diagnostic and therapeutic health care coverage for patients which will include but not be limited to taking medical histories, performing physical examinations, coordinating lab tests, diagnostic studies, prescribing medications, and providing assistance to the patient regarding a plan of treatment and education. Other duties may include sharing call hours, phone coverage, and seeing admitted patients within the hospital. For ICU assignment, assists the attending ICU physician in the care and management of patients. Job Summary The RN Charge oversees the operations of a nursing unit during assigned shifts, ensuring effective and efficient delivery of high-quality patient care. This role supervises nursing staff, coordinates care with healthcare teams, and maintains compliance with healthcare regulations and hospital policies while fostering a positive work environment and promoting professional development. Essential Functions Supervises and supports nursing and support staff, delegating tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel. Evaluates staff performance, providing feedback and coaching to maintain high standards of care. Oversees the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care, ensuring patient care plans are followed and adjusted as needed. Collaborates with healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and resolve issues related to patient flow or care delivery. Ensures effective communication among physicians, patients, families, and hospital departments, including managing shift handoffs and unit huddles. Monitors patient flow, manages bed assignments, and optimizes resource utilization within the unit. Conducts employee and patient rounding to evaluate care delivery and satisfaction. Monitors adherence to safety standards, infection control protocols, and hospital policies, addressing non-compliance promptly. Participates in quality improvement initiatives and audits to enhance patient outcomes and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations. Ensures necessary medical supplies are available and properly utilized while maintaining cost-effective resource management. Facilitates ongoing education and professional development for nursing staff and ensures training needs are met. Leads efforts in infection prevention by conducting audits, educating staff, and ensuring adherence to protocols for hand hygiene, sterilization, and use of PPE. Responds to emergencies within the unit, providing leadership and direct care as necessary. Performs other duties as assigned. Maintains regular and reliable attendance. Qualifications 1-2 years of clinical nursing experience required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Strong clinical knowledge and ability to oversee complex patient care. Effective communication and interpersonal skills to coordinate with interdisciplinary teams. Leadership and mentoring skills to manage staff and promote a positive work environment. Ability to assess, prioritize, and manage multiple patients and tasks. Proficiency in using hospital information systems and clinical documentation tools. Knowledge of infection control protocols, safety standards, and quality improvement practices. Critical thinking and problem-solving skills for addressing unit challenges and emergencies. Licenses and Certifications RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure required BLS - Basic Life Support required ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support preferred INDNUR
