SUMMARY Directs nursing care for the patients, and supervises the day-to-day nursing activities performed by nursing assistants. Such supervision should be in accordance with current federal, state, and local and regulations governing our nursing center, and as may be directed by the Administrator, the Medical Director, and/or the Director of Nursing Services to provide the appropriate care for our patients. May be subject to hostile and emotionally upset patients, family members, associates and visitors. OTHER CONSIDERATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS In this position, the associate must be able to tolerate a high pace that is typical for a nursing center. Must be able to take and give instructions well and enjoy working with the elderly. Although associate is able to sit when charting medical information, must be able to tolerate prolonged standing and walking. Conducts infection control surveillance activities to investigate, control and prevent infections in the facility. 18.
