Facilitate the educational process by modifying or removing health-related barriers to learning. 4. Patient Safety a. Practices safety practices accordance with universal precautions in provision of care, fall prevention, safe patient mobilization with proper body mechanics, and measures, interprets and applies vital signs to health assessment. b. Practices safe medication administration, uses 2 patient identifiers with all procedures, and maintains accurate and complete records. c. Maintains knowledge of current pharmacology. d. Provides student and parent education when indicated, and ensures mandated immunizations/testing is complete and documented annually. e. Disseminates information and training specific to student health to school personnel who have legitimate educational interest per regulation. f. Implements established protocols as approved by the medical director based on identified criteria. 5. Professional Growth a. Maintains competency by subbing on a routine basis. b. Demonstrates leadership and exemplary behavior as an adult role model for students and a resource for school staff. c. Participates in AIM high and/or participates in professional organization activities and/or is an active council member. d.
