As a Float Nurse (RN), you will: Be responsible for providing additional and/or relief coverage as indicated by staff shortage or patient status in varying patient care areas. Perform a full range of professional nursing services, including assessing, administering, and evaluating patient care, in accordance with team treatment plan. Administer medical treatment as prescribed by physician and is responsible for teaching and providing psychosocial support to patients. Provide day-to-day clinical direction to Mental Health Workers. Ensure that Resident care plans are being followed and asses each Resident’s status in accord with their care plan. 11. Round with physicians when needed. 12. RN’s to assess residents for change in clinical condition and prn. 13. LPN’s to monitor residents for change in clinical condition and prn. 14. Administer or supervise all treatments prescribed by physicians including but not limited to pressure ulcer care, Foley catheter care. 15. Supervise serving of prescribed diets and fluids intake and immediately report any issues to the physician and DON/ADON. 16. Must be knowledgeable of individual resident focused care plans and support the care planning process by reporting specific information and observations of the Resident’s needs, preferences and report any behavioral changes. 17. Provide wound care when needed. 18. Completes medical records documenting care provided and other information in accordance with nursing policies while maintaining strict confidentiality. 19. Assure that established infection control and standard precaution practices are maintained when providing care. Follow established safety precautions when preforming tasks and using equipment and supplies. 20. Reports all hazardous conditions, damaged equipment and supply issues to appropriate persons. 21. Maintains the comfort, privacy and dignity of Residents/residents and interacts with them in a manner that displays warmth, respect and promotes a caring environment. 22.
