Our highly skilled cardiothoracic surgeons, physician assistants, perfusionists, nurses and technologists provide advanced surgical treatments for conditions affecting the heart, lungs, and chest cavity. About the Job: Nurses provide sterility and safety for all surgical procedures. You must examine, take vital signs, verify allergies, and answer questions to prepare patients for surgery. You must also monitor each patient, record vital signs changes, and use sterile equipment during operation. After surgery, you must dispose of medical waste and disinfect the OR room before closing. You must ensure patient safety and satisfaction before, during, and after surgery. This professional ensures that all procedures go smoothly and that patients return home healthy. Your commitment to OR excellence distinguishes you from other nurses. What You’ll Do: Assessing patient needs before, during and after a surgical procedure. Operating specialized medical equipment including anesthesia machines and ventilators. Preparing patients for surgery by scrubbing, gowning, and positioning them on the operating table. Monitoring vital signs of patients while they are under general anesthesia. Additionally, maintaining records of medications administered to ensure accuracy. Who You Are: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred. Minimum two (2) years’ experience as a circulator required. New Hampshire Registered Nurse or Compact State Registered Nurse License required. Ability to obtain BLS qualification during orientation period and maintain during employment. ACLS preferred. Performs general administrative duties in accordance with JCAHO, CLIA, NCQA and government standards, as well as company policies and procedures. Key Responsibilities Performs visit chart preparation activities based on the daily scheduled appointments including diagnostic test results, emergency/urgent care reports, discharge summaries and consult/PCP reports are located in the medical record and accessible to the provider. Performs rooming activities for provider visits according to the documented rooming criteria including chief complaint, allergies, vital signs, medication list review, tobacco history, LMP, health maintenance overrides and documentation in a timely and accurate manner. Obtains and documents age and/or condition-specific measurements accurately including vital signs, height, weight, head circumference, peak flow, and pulse oximetry. Conducts and documents hearing, vision, respiratory and ECG testing. Performs and documents specific screening based on condition/need including depression and asthma. Obtains, documents and processes specimens using the appropriate collection process and equipment. Performs and documents point of care testing accurately. Performs venipuncture procedures (as needed) and processes specimens as outlined in policies and procedures. Administers medications and immunizations including oral, nasal, injectable, rectal and topical routes as appropriate. Processes medication prescription refills per guidelines using telephonic, electronic or print methods. Handles prior authorization processes for medications and/or procedures and documents appropriately. Manages clinical supplies and medication sample areas to ensure that stock is current, stored appropriately, labeled and par levels maintained. Education/Experience/Licensure MA I Education: HS Diploma or GED required and One of the following: Graduate from an accredited MA Program. Graduate from an MA Training Program with externship. 1 year of relevant healthcare experience with formal training (LNA, EMT, Combat Medic). 1 year prior experience as a Medical Assistant. Experience: 1 year of relevant healthcare exp. (can include externship), 1 -2 years exp. in a clinical ambulatory care setting preferred. Certification/Licensure: Must possess BLS authorization upon 90 days of employment and maintain during employment. CMA, RMA or CCMA preferred. MA II Education: HS Diploma or GED required and One of the following: Graduate from an accredited MA Program. Graduate from an MA Training Program with externship. At least 3 years’ experience as a Medical Assistant. Experience: 1 year of relevant healthcare exp. (can include externship), 1 -2 years exp. in a clinical ambulatory care setting preferred. Experience: At least 3 years’ experience as a Medical Assistant. Certification/Licensure: CMA, RMA or CCMA required.
