Description The Clinical Nurse is a Registered Professional Nurse who provides safe, competent quality care based on nursing theory and research to a designated group of patients and significant others. Responsibilities Patient Care Delivers patient care by incorporating the tenets of the professional practice model of Relationship Centered Care and through the application of the nursing process based upon theory, research, evidence-based practice, and approved organizational nursing standards. Manages assignments within the Care Delivery Model of Modified Primary Nursing and demonstrates allocation of material resources effectively. Patient Experience Role models the tenets of Mount Sinai Relationship Centered Care (MSHRCC) through facilitation of the following actions including, but not limited to, Admission Welcome, Bedside shift Report, HELP (High Risk Medications, Equipment, Lines, Drains, Airway, Pain and Plan of Care), AM/PM Care, 5 Minute Sit Down, Purposeful Hourly Rounding, Medication Review, Discharge Wrap Up, and MD/RN Unit Collaboration. Considers the patients values, preferences, cultural diversity, expressed needs and knowledge in all aspects of care. Establishes and maintains a therapeutic relationship with the patient and family. Uses evidence-based practices to increase understanding of patient's perceptions of care. Initiates service recovery for patients and family members who have concerns and escalates to Clinical Nurse Manager/Assistant Nurse Manager/Nursing Administrator or Patient Relations as needed. Demonstrates caring, respect, compassion, empathy and active listening through dialogue, body language and actions. Supports staff use of evidence-based practices to increase understanding of patient's perceptions of care. Conducts Purposeful Hourly Rounding (PHR) on assigned patients addressing the 4 Ps. Quality and Safety Practices safe and efficient patient-centered care, identifying and escalating barriers and opportunities for improvement. Demonstrates clinical skills and knowledge crucial to quality and safety in the patient population served. Implements process improvement strategies based on institutional, evidence-based ensure and procedures. Engages in formal and informal peer and institutional review processes. Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to create and implement quality improvement projects, evidence-based practice activities and nursing research studies. Contributes to quality and safety practices and required compliance measures. Implements principles of high reliability to identify and avoid high risk behaviors to provide a safe environment for patients. Escalates potential safety hazards or gaps from best practice following institutional chain of command protocol. Utilizes institutional information technology by documenting nursing practice to support quality and performance improvement initiatives. Operations Performs charge nurse duties as assigned. Coordinates with the Clinical Coordinator/Clinical Nurse Manager/Assistant Nurse Manager/Nursing Administrator to ensure supplies are appropriately utilized and inventory is sufficient for patient care. Escalates material or staffing resource deficits to charge nurse, Clinical Nurse Manager/Assistant Nurse Manager or Nursing Administrator. Demonstrates patient focused and cost-effective approaches to patient care in terms of equipment, staff, supplies and all other resources. Documents in an accurate and thorough manner in compliance with hospital, regulatory and legal requirements and standards of care. Facilitates patient throughput on a shift basis. Description As an integral part of the clinical care team, the Patient Care Associate is responsible for patient care and support activities promoting patient focused care within the Specialty Service. The Patient Care Associate supports the registered nurse in patient care activities, such as: assisting patient with activities of daily living, collecting specimens and performing procedures; maintaining a safe, clean environment; and other duties as needed. Job Description The Pain Management Center provides care to outpatients. The hours of operation for the Pain Management Center are Monday through Friday 7:30 AM until 4:00PM. Responsibilities Supervise RNs, LPNs, CNAs, and nursing staff during the evening shift Oversee the care of medically complex pediatric residents Provide hands-on clinical guidance and leadership to the nursing team Monitor residents for changes in condition and ensure appropriate interventions Oversee admissions, transfers, physician orders, medications, treatments, and nursing documentation Ensure nursing policies, procedures, and clinical standards are consistently followed Respond to clinical emergencies and provide leadership during urgent situations Communicate with physicians, families, nursing leadership, and the interdisciplinary care team Ensure appropriate staffing and nursing coverage throughout the shift Review nursing documentation for accuracy and completeness Follow up on incidents, clinical concerns, and changes in resident condition Ensure a smooth transition and appropriate communication between shifts Qualifications Current New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license PICU or NICU experience required Experience caring for medically complex pediatric patients Previous RN Supervisor, Charge Nurse, or nursing leadership experience strongly preferred Strong pediatric assessment and critical-care skills Ability to remain calm and provide leadership during clinical emergencies Strong communication, organizational, and supervisory skills Compensation & Benefits $130,000–$140,000 per year , based on experience. What You'll Be Doing Under the general supervision of the physician and/or Director of Invasive Cardiology, the Cardiac Cath. Lab. Nurse is responsible for assessing nursing needs and initiating appropriate Intervention for Adult and Geriatric patients in Cardiac Cath. Lab, Department as required. Maintains standards of nursing care and practice of the Nursing Department. What We're Looking For Graduate from an approved school of nursing. BCLS, ACLS ,IABP Certification. Complete IV Certification course and Telemetry certification as per Medical Center policy. Knowledge of radiographic procedures and equipment desirable. A minimum of one (1) year previous acute care experience is required to qualify for sign-on bonus(*) Experience in Medical-Surgical Nursing; 1-2 Years Critical care experience required. Ability to act in a professional capacity and serve as a professional role model and function independently with minimal supervision. Current Registered Nurse License in the State of New Jersey. BLS, ACLS, IABP required. PALS certification and experience in EKG interpretation, hemodynamic monitoring. PTCA experience preferred. Full-time, day shift. 4 days a week, 10-hour shift (Mon-Fri). On-call as needed.
