Job Overview Fairview has an immediate opening for a Medical Assistant to join our Women's Health Care team at our West Bank in Minneapolis, MN This is a 0.8 FTE ( 64 hours per two week pay period), benefits-eligible opening. Patient Placement RN

Job Overview Fairview is seeking a Patient Placement RN to join our team at our Midway Campus in St. Paul, Minnesota. This is a part-time position (0.8 FTE/64 hours every two weeks) and is benefit eligible. This role is scheduled for day/evening shifts with start times of 6:00 a.m., 7:00 a.m., 2:00 p.m., or 3:00 p.m., and includes an every-third-weekend rotation. The Patient Placement RN plays a vital role in coordinating patient flow and ensuring timely placement to support safe, efficient care across the health system. Applies knowledge of hospital and unit admission criteria and type of care provided in each department and service to appropriately place patients using critical thinking skills. Maintains and communicates the global picture of system hospital capacity. Engages in improvement efforts designed to help the system and the SOC function more efficiently and improve patient care processes and outcomes. Responsible for developing and maintaining relationships and working collaboratively with Acute Care site leaders including, but not limited to Charge Nurse, Nurse Managers, Director of Nursing, etc. in all patient care areas: Understands staffing levels on the patient care units based on communication with the staffing office, unit leadership and the Administrative Nursing Supervisor(s). Routinely provides recommendations to Manager of Patient Placement to ensure the patient placement process is operating effectively. Communicates frequently with Emergency Department, PACU and procedural areas to prevent backlog of admissions and implement procedures that will avoid diversions. Serves as a liaison for clinical and operational issues surrounding timely transfers and discharges to optimize bed utilization. Maintains positive working relationships with provider groups and nursing staff. Helps medical staff problem-solve around barriers to efficient placement, such as considerations of alternative hospitals, need for telemetry, isolation and other patient and system factors. Keeps providers and external referring providers up-to-date on status and triage of patients awaiting placement, as appropriate. About this Unit: 18 bed Telemetry and ICU 18 years old and up patients Average length of stay average 3-4 days. Patient population: vents, codes, vent failures, septics, shock, and unstable post surgicals The Nursing Assistant is responsible for assisting the professional nurse/caregiver in the delivery of patient care, transporting patient and/or equipment, setting up and maintaining patient rooms, and the reordering and stocking of supplies. The Nursing Assistant does not work autonomously but works under the direction of a professional nurse. The Nursing Assistant may be given a patient care assignment based on unit needs and the discretion of the manager/charge nurse. Job Overview Fairview is looking for an upbeat and energetic Registered Nurse for our Emergency Department at Fairview Ridges Hospital located in Burnsville, MN. The hospital is just 20 minutes south of Minneapolis, MN near the 35E and 35 W conjunctions! It has been providing state-of-the art care and community services to the residents of the scenic Minnesota Valley since 1984. Our ED is a Level 3 Trauma Center. We have 45 beds and a yearly census of approximately 67,000 and growing! Team members include Board Certified Emergency Physicians, Advanced Practice Providers, Registered Nurses, ER Techs, Health Unit Coordinators, transport, mental health associates and Case Managers. Emergency Department Registered Nurses provide emergency nursing care for a diversified population of all age distributions (infant to geriatrics) and all problem types in a very lively Emergency Room. The Fairview Ridges ER processes 72,000 cases per year, with an average of 203 patients seen daily. The position duties include assessment, care planning, interventions, and instructing. New positions added due to volumes/growth. The patient population served by the Emergency Department consists of newborn, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients requiring or seeking medical care. Twenty percent of our ED volume is pediatric. Schedule: This position is 72 hours per pay period, 12 hour night shifts (7pm-7:30am) with every third weekend (Friday, Saturday and Sunday). The Registered Nurse is responsible for the assessment, planning, delivery, and evaluation of nursing care for all assigned patient population(s). The RN is responsible for performing these responsibilities in accordance with all policy, procedures, professional practice guidelines and the MN Nurse Practice Act. The RN coordinates care with members of the health care team and delegates responsibilities to others as appropriate. Responsibilities Assesses patient needs and identifies expected nursing outcomes. Collaborates with patient, family and other health team members to develop a nursing plan as part of an integrated, comprehensive plan of care Develops an individualized plan based on age, social and cultural considerations, condition and other relevant needs. Evaluates care and patient response to interventions and expected outcomes. Collaborates and communicates effectively and respectfully with the patient, family and members of the health care team within and across care settings to promote partnership-based health care Demonstrates the ability to advance care by utilizing standards, guidelines, care pathways and continuous improvement to enhance patient outcomes. Promotes a culture of evidence based practice (EBP) Required Qualifications: MN RN Licensure Basic Life Support (BLS) through Health Care Providers Completion of Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) for Healthcare Providers required by the end of orientation.
