Position Summary The Device Clinic RN / Electrophysiology Program Coordinator is responsible for the clinical and operational coordination of the Cardiology Device and Electrophysiology Program, including remote cardiac device monitoring, in-office device management, alert triage, patient education, and workflow oversight. This role serves as a central clinical resource for cardiac implantable electronic device (CIED) management, supporting electrophysiology and general cardiology providers through coordinated patient care, timely review and escalation of device findings, and development of efficient, scalable workflows within a growing device and arrhythmia program. The RN will collaborate closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, device technicians, and clinical support staff to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality care for patients with pacemakers, ICDs, loop recorders, CRT devices, and related cardiac technologies. Position is supervised by the Manager, Clinical Operations who reports up through Assistant Director and director Emergency Services. Responsibilities Develop and implement a plan of care and demonstrate leadership to ensure all patient/family needs are met. Monitor patients before, during and after admission and/or procedures. Evaluate the plan of care and the patient's responses: reassess and revise the plan based upon changing needs and priorities. Set up and use all equipment needed for treatments. Act as resource for aides and students for all procedures in the ED and on call. Demonstrate the skill and judgment necessary to implement Physician's orders, nursing interventions and procedures as necessary for the care of the patient. Maintain up to date and accurate documentation of nursing care provided to insure the integration of information for use by the health care team and to insure the totality of quality care. Promote effective working relationships and work cooperatively as part of the department team to facilitate the department's ability to meet its goal and objectives. Contributes to Quality Improvement activities and participates in the departmental Quality Improvement Program. Responsible for own professional development to insure appropriate knowledge of advances in practice to provide state of the art treatment for patient population serviced. Perform other related duties as required. Requirements Licensed Registered Nurse in the State of Connecticut BCLS required; ACLS/TNCC, ENPC or PALS preferred. Good communication skills. Ability to work as a member of an interdisciplinary team Ability to work in a time oriented environment including exposure to all patient elements, i.e. blood borne pathogens, physical requirements; lifting and pulling of patients, pushing stretchers, standing and walking for extended periods of time wearing a lead apron. Ability to adapt to a high stress chaotic work environment. Ability to task and time manage. Ability to utilize critical thinking skills. Ability to interact with patients with tact and confidentiality. Must have basic computer skills and ability to access internet and other programs applicable to Waterbury Hospital procedures. Perform automated functions that fall within job responsibility.

Scope Of Position The practice of nursing by a Licensed Practical Nurse is defined as the performing of selected tasks and sharing of responsibility under the direction of a Registered Nurse. Responsibilities Under the direction of an RN, perform selected tasks and activities to obtain and report information to assist the RN in the assessment, planning and evaluation of patient needs. Contributes to the nursing assessment by: Collecting, reporting, and recording objective and subjective data in an accurate and timely manner. This includes: Observation about condition or change in patient status Signs and symptoms that deviate from normal health status Participate in the development of the patients care plan. Participate in delegating and giving direct care based on priority of needs and established goals. Providing an environment conductive to safety and health. Documents nursing interventions and responses to care. Communicating nursing interventions and responses to care to appropriate members of the healthcare team. Under the direction of the RN, perform patient related activities, medication administration, diagnostic testing, therapeutic treatments, which contribute to safe and efficient delivery of patient care. Supports and participates in quality initiatives. Maintains accountability for professional competency. Demonstrates knowledge and critical thinking to promote optimal patient care. Performs related duties as assigned. Requirements State of CT LPN License Good oral and written communication and interpersonal skills. CPR certified. CPI certified. Ability to read and write English with a command of verbal English. Ability to work well and collaboratively with other members of the health care team Ability to maintain patient confidentiality. Maintain up to date and accurate documentation of nursing care provided to insure the integration of information for use by the health care team and to insure the totality of quality care.
