Performs Other duties as required. Overview Kelemen North 7 is a 23-bed medical surgical/telemetry unit specializing in the care of traumatically injured patients. Patients with injuries that are stable but require ongoing close monitoring are admitted to this unit directly from the ED or the Ross Trauma Admitting Area. Patients are also admitted to the unit as they are downgraded from the Trauma/Surgical ICU or the Trauma Step-Down Unit. Patients usually cared for in this area include those with traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, rib fractures and lung injuries, as well as diverse orthopedic injuries requiring frequent monitoring and care. The unit is staffed with registered nurses, critical care technicians, trauma surgery nurse practitioners and resident physicians. Staff also work closely with respiratory therapy and specialized surgical groups such as orthopedics and neurosurgery. Nurses and critical care technicians working in this area receive education specific to the care of the trauma patient. Experience Required A minimum of one year or more of RN acute care experience in an inpatient setting is preferred Education Requirements Graduate of NLN accredited School of Nursing. License/Certification Requirements Current NJ-RN License (Registered Nurse). Current NJ-BLS Certification (Basic Life Support) Certain specialties may require advanced certification (i.e., ACLS, NALS, PALS).

Ensure timely and accurate communication of patient needs and concerns. Manage medical supply inventory by monitoring and maintaining stock levels of medical supplies, place orders as needed and ensure proper storage and organization of inventory to support clinical operations and avoid shortages. Upon successful completion of competency skills training, assist in office-based surgical procedures (Anything historically performed in an Operating Room and/or requiring moderate sedation or higher including but not limited to LEEP, operative hysteroscopy, ablations, and D&Cs with or without suction) by preparing the procedure room, ensuing the availability of necessary equipment, providing support to healthcare providers during the surgeries, and post-surgical processes including disinfection. Ensure patient safety within the clinical setting. Work collaboratively with physicians, providers, nurses, and other staff to ensure efficient practice operations. Safely and efficiently assist patients with mobility, including transferring them between examination rooms and treatment areas. The Day Center CNA ( Certified Nurse Assistant) works at our Adult Day Health Center assisting participants with ADLs (activities of daily living) and providing both restorative and supportive care.
