Initiating and maintain complex IV therapy , including thrombolytic administration, vasoactive medications, central IV catheters, dialysis catheters & arterial lines. Safe use of less invasive, life supporting modalities i.e. BiPAP, ETCO2, arterial pressure based CO/CI & SVO2 monitor, core temperature monitors. Must be able to work 7:00a-7:00p Qualifications Your qualifications should include: Critical Care/Telemetry experience or Telemetry competency within 6 months of hire. State of Illinois Registered Nurse License. Graduate of NLNAC or CCNE school of Nursing Basic Life Support (BLS) certified through American Heart Association upon hire and maintained in position. JOB SUMMARY Responsible to provide direct nursing care to the customer, and to supervise the day-to- day nursing activities performed by the nursing assistants. Place orders for medications and treatments as necessary following established budgetary guidelines. Utilize PCC 24-hour summary concerning recommendations/concerns related to customer care needs. Fill out complete accident/incident reports. Encourage attending physicians to review treatment plans, record and sign their orders, progress notes, etc., in accordance with established policies. Chart nurses’ notes in an informative and descriptive manner that reflects the care provided to the customer, as well as the customer’s response to the care. Complete required assessments upon the customer’s admission, transfer, and/or discharge. Receive telephone orders from physicians and record on the Physicians’ Order Form and P.O.S. Record new/changed diet orders. Forward information to the Dietary Department. Perform routine charting duties as required and in accordance with our established Charting and Documentation Policies and Procedures. Responsible for completion of admission, discharge, and transfer processes. Prepare and administer medications and treatments if appropriate as ordered by the physician. Review medication record for completeness of information, accuracy in the transcription of the physician’s order, and adherence to stop order policies. Administer professional services such as: catheterization, tube feedings, suction, applying and changing dressings/bandages, packs, colostomy, and drainage bags, care of the dead/dying, etc., as required. Participate in the orientation of new customers/family members to the facility. Arrange for diagnostic and therapeutic services, as ordered by the physician. Notify the customer’s attending physician and family when there is a change in the customer’s conditions. Obtain sputum, urine and other lab tests as ordered. Take and record TPR’s, blood pressures, accuchecks, etc., as necessary. Contact the customer’s physician for: Nursing assessment of change of condition. Medication orders or charges. To inform of incidents. To report abnormal results of Lab and X-ray. Anything else pertinent to the customers’ care and well-being. Ensure the nurses’ notes and monthly summaries reflect the care plan and is being followed. Attend staff meetings, etc., as directed. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Performs personal services for customer’s (i.e., reading, writing letters, etc.) as time allows. Encourages customers to help themselves and promotes self-care in aiding rehabilitation. Assists with care of dying and expired customers. Records resident food/fluid intake. Completes meal monitor form as indicated. Reports changes in resident’s eating habits to the Staff Nurse. Keeps customers water pitchers clean and filled with fresh water on each shift unless contraindicated. Serves between meals and bedtime snacks. Wears transfer belt at all times and utilizes as needed. Keeps the nurses’ call system within easy reach of the resident. Reports all hazardous equipment and conditions to the Staff Nurse immediately. Perform an assessment evaluation using techniques including observation, inspection, and palpation Initiate requests for consultation or referral. Respond to requests from the resident, physician, or nursing staff Identify, manage, and treat specific skin disorders and primary and secondary lesions, such as skin abrasions, foot problems such as corns and callouses, decubitus ulcers, bacterial, parasitic and viral skin infections, scaling popular diseases, and benign tumors Assist in resident rehabilitation activities. Where require, perform range of motion, assist in ambulation, provide emotional support. Monitor the results of physical therapy activities. Provide preventative health care services. Make recommendations to the resident concerning nutrition, prevention of common skin disorders, etc., Make written and oral reports/recommendations to the attending physician, Medical Director, or the DON concerning the status and care of the residents Implement and maintain established policies and procedures relative to skRN/LPNin care treatments.
