This role supports comprehensive care across the continuum—from high‑risk assessment and diagnostic workup to treatment, survivorship, and long‑term follow‑up. The ideal candidate brings clinical expertise, patient‑centered communication, and a commitment to evidence‑based oncology practice. **About the Opportunity** The team includes 8 providers, 8 APNs, and 52 ancillary staff. You will provide dedicated support across 3 oncology floors within the hospital. Flexible hours - 1-2 days a week. 3/6/8 hours in a day. **What your day will look like** Determines and prioritizes patient care needs. Diagnoses are determined and prioritized from the assessment data using appropriate complex clinical reasoning. Performs or implements interventions and treatments with knowledge of health care research findings and reflecting a scientific basis and theory. Order, perform and interpret laboratory tests. The Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant will order and interpret any tests necessary to the medical evaluation. Examples include CBC, serum chemistry, tumor markers, chest x-ray, cat scans, nuclear scans, MRI, venous Doppler studies, EKG and Echo at appropriate oncology disease specific treatment interval as defined by NCCN guidelines. Select and performs tests and therapeutic procedures for the patient as necessary, adhering to scope of practice guidelines and program area's curriculum. Prescribe Drugs: The Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant will prescribe drugs as necessary as appropriate for the Hematology/Oncology office in accordance with state and federal law. Provide preventive care and diagnosis and treatment of episodic, short-term and stable chronic hematologic/oncologic problems. Identifies educational needs of patients and families and collaborates with other members of the multidisciplinary patient care team to develop programs and materials for team members, patient/family and the community. Position: Certified Home Health Aide (CHHA) Location: Bergen County, NJ Schedule: 7:30 AM - 11:00 AM, 20 hours per week Client: 80-year-old man with slight dementia, requiring assistance in the morning for personal care and preparation to attend the senior center. Job Responsibilities: Assist the client with morning routines, including dressing, personal hygiene, and ensuring overall cleanliness. Provide gentle direction and reminders to the client, ensuring he is ready for his day and able to follow his morning routine independently with your support. Assist with any additional care needs as they arise, ensuring the client's safety and comfort. Support the client’s transition to the senior center, ensuring a smooth and comfortable departure. What We Are Looking For: A dedicated CHHA with a heart for caregiving and a passion for working with seniors. Experience with dementia care is highly preferred. Ability to work independently and follow through with care instructions. Compassionate and reliable, with a commitment to enhancing the client’s quality of life.

The SCU (Surgical Care Unit) is a 36 bed medical-surgical unit with a specialized focus on patients receiving inpatient surgical interventions. A portion of the unit, the Jim Craigie Center for Joint Replacement, is a dedicated use area for total hip and knee replacement patients. The Surgical Care Unit is certified as a Bariatric Center of Excellence and Joint Commission Advanced Hip and Knee Replacement Center. Scheduling Requirements: Night Shift Key Roles and Responsibilities: Nurses on SCU will provide pre and post-operative care for patients recovering from a variety of surgical procedures (hip fractures, spinal surgery, other orthopedic surgeries, bariatrics, various abdominal surgeries, breast surgeries, urological interventions, etc.) Emphasis on patient and family education to ensure clear expectations and optimal outcomes during surgical recovery, both in the hospital and at home Some of the clinical skills performed on a daily basis consist of: safe patient ambulation, pain management, drain care, nasogastric tube care, foley catheter care, chest tubes, central lines, wound vac and wound care, complex medication administration, blood administration and constant communication with the interdisciplinary team.
