Overview IDEAL NNP OPPORTUNITY! Belmont (Charlotte Metro Region), North Carolina Responsibilities We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced, per diem, certified neonatal nurse practitioner in a brand new, 10 bed LDRP Level-I Nursery, at CaroMont Regional Medical Center-Belmont which is scheduled to open late 2024. About the Practice This Level 1 unit will have an anticipated 600 deliveries a year An average daily census of about 5 newborns NNPs will be responsible for daily rounds on newborns, attending deliveries when requested and will take call from home Practitioners would also stabilize, manage and facilitate transport of newborns to adjacent NICUs in Charlotte or Gastonia for newborns needing higher level care °The Belmont team will consist of 4 NNPs with the sister LEVEL III NICU staffed by 2 neonatologists and 5-6 NNPs who provide care at C aroMont Regional Medical Center- Gastonia , which is only 7 miles away °Opportunities to do supplemental PRN shifts at the level III NICU in Gastonia may be possible; but would not be required, as this position is for the Level 1 nursery. Our CaroMont NICU has been featured in the Wall Street Journal as a Luxury Birthplace, with architectural design, for single room NICU and mother-baby care. CaroMont Health is expanding in 2024 with a second hospital in nearby Belmont, NC, which will have a labor and delivery service with a level 1 newborn nursery. The team consists of 2 neonatologist and 5-6 NNPs who provide care at CaroMont Regional Medical Center for patients of Gaston and surrounding counties The NICU has approximately 320 admissions and 1900 births annually, with an average daily census of 10 NNPs work in our 16-suite, Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and will also help with covering the newborn nursery NNPs provide 20 hours per day of shift coverage, in collaboration with the neonatologists who provides in-house daytime coverage and back-up call from home at night.
