ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES Patient Care 1. Completes an initial, comprehensive and ongoing comprehensive assessment of patient and family to determine hospice needs. Assesses and evaluates patient’s status by: A. Writing and initiating plan of care B. Regularly re-evaluating patient and family/caregiver needs C. Participating in revising the plan of care as necessary 4. Initiates the plan of care and makes necessary revisions as patient status and needs change. 5. Uses health assessment data to determine nursing diagnosis. 6. Develops a care plan that establishes goals, based on nursing diagnosis and incorporates palliative nursing actions. Position Summary: The Inpatient Registered Nurse (RN) in the Cardiovascular Lab provides comprehensive nursing care to patients undergoing diagnostic and interventional procedures in a fast‑paced, multidisciplinary procedural environment. This role supports cardiac catheterization, electrophysiology (EP), and basic interventional radiology (IR) services for both inpatient and outpatient populations within a community‑based hospital setting. As part of an ODH Level II Cardiovascular Lab , the RN delivers safe, evidence‑based care in alignment with established Level II practice standards. Responsibilities include pre‑, intra‑, and post‑procedural nursing care, patient assessment and monitoring, medication administration, hemodynamic and rhythm monitoring, and collaboration with physicians and multidisciplinary team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes. The RN participates in STEMI care , including a required STEMI call rotation, and demonstrates strong clinical judgment, technical proficiency, and the ability to respond effectively in emergent situations. This role requires a commitment to patient safety, regulatory compliance, and high‑reliability practices across all procedural areas. Required Qualifications Degree in Nursing from a CCNE (Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education) or Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) accredited nursing program required.
