In this role, you will work closely with the optometrist to support comprehensive eye care for patients across the lifespan. What You'll Do Welcome and prepare patients for their optometry visits by obtaining medical and vision histories, medications, allergies, and other pertinent information. Perform routine, non-invasive optometric pre-testing as directed by the optometrist, which may include visual acuity, visual fields, tonometry, lensometry, and other testing within your training, competency, and applicable California requirements. Assist optometrists during examinations and procedures by preparing patients, rooms, equipment, and supplies and providing clinical support throughout the visit. Accurately document patient histories, test results, clinical information, and services in the EHR and ensure information is available for provider review. Reinforce provider-directed education related to eye health, medications, contact lens care, treatment plans, and follow-up appointments. Support referrals, scheduling, follow-up care, patient communication, and other clinical coordination activities. Maintain clean, organized, and properly stocked examination rooms and equipment while following infection prevention and patient safety standards. Promote a positive patient experience by supporting efficient patient flow and providing compassionate, culturally responsive care. Participate in quality improvement, compliance, and team initiatives that support the delivery of high-quality optometry services. Qualifications Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program. At least one year of Medical Assistant experience in an optometry setting required. Experience performing optometric pre-testing, including visual acuity, visual fields, tonometry, and lensometry, strongly preferred. Bilingual English/Spanish skills preferred. Current CPR certification or willingness to obtain certification prior to hire. Experience working with patients across the lifespan, including children, preferred. Provides safe, effective, and efficient implementation of direct care in accordance with established policies, procedures and standards of care. *This role involves driving throughout Orange County to provide psychiatric care to our members* Shifts Available: Full-Time | AM | Shifts: 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM | Days: Monday - Friday Expected starting wage range is $28.43 - $35.13. Telecare applies geographic differentials to its pay ranges. The pay range assigned to this role will be based on the geographic location from which the role is performed. Starting pay is commensurate with relevant experience above the minimum requirements. What You Bring to the Table (Must Have) Graduation from an accredited Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) /Licensed Psychiatric Technician (LPT) program and current licensure Current CPR/BLS certificate Must be at least 18 years of age Must be CPR, First Aid, and CPI certified (hands-on course) on date of employment or prior to providing direct client care and maintain current certification throughout employment All opportunities at Telecare are contingent upon successful completion and receipt of acceptable results of the applicable post-offer physical examination, 2-step PPD test for tuberculosis, acceptable criminal background clearances, excluded party sanctions, and degree or license verification.
