Location: Dodson Medical Office Building Department: Neurology Shift: First Shift (United States of America) Standard Weekly Hours: 40 Summary: We are searching for a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant who is motivated to work in an exciting, inpatient Pediatric Neurology setting. In this position, you will practice in an advanced role to provide developmentally appropriate, comprehensive care for children with a myriad of neurologic conditions. You will work collaboratively with our Neurosciences team, as well as other members of the child’s healthcare team. You will practice under established clinical protocols and guidelines. Administers all medications/blood products using correct medication/blood product, dosage/amount, route, time and technique. Facilitates dose modification by assessing patient, assessing labs, consulting protocol or treatment plan, calculating dose, and consulting physician regarding dosage modifications, problems and symptom management. Performs venipuncture, accesses implanted ports and maintains central lines catheter devices. Facilitates clinical operations and patient care. Manages patient medication refill requests from the pharmacy telephone line and records the information in the patient chart. Triages patient phone calls as needed and documents relevant information in the patient's chart. Assist patients in locating available community resources. Qualifications The ideal candidate for the PRN Registered Nurse (RN) will have the following background and experience: Level 1: Graduate from an accredited program for professional nursing education, BSN preferred. RN state license and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in practicing state. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. 0-3 years nursing experience, preferably at least one year in oncology/infusion. Level 2 (in addition to level 1 requirements): 3-5 years nursing experience including at least one year in oncology preferred. Level Sr (in addition to level 1 and 2 requirements): Five years nursing experience, including at least one year in oncology preferred.
