This is a great opportunity for an experienced caregiver who likes variety, is comfortable with different levels of care, doesn't mind driving, and can be counted on when a client unexpectedly needs coverage. As an On-Call Caregiver, you won't necessarily work with the same client every day. Instead, you'll be part of our ready-to-go backup team and may be sent wherever coverage is needed during your scheduled on-call hours. The Experienced Clinical Nurse at MD Anderson Cancer Center manages patient outcomes by providing, coordinating and supporting clinical aspects of direct patient care across the continuum of care. They impact quality of patient care, patient outcomes and use of resources in a designated area in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, an RN license and at least twelve months of recent RN experience in medical/surgical or an acute care setting. The candidate must be available to work the Day/Evening shift (7am - 7pm), or the Evening/Night shift (7pm-7am) with rotating weekends and holidays required. The G19 Leukemia/Lymphoma unit is a 48-bed unit within the hematology cohort. Hematology patients are hospitalized for supportive care during active, aggressive high-dose chemotherapy/biotherapy and cellular therapy through a wide range of morbidity related symptoms, as well as re-hospitalization for treatment side effects. Leukemia care includes diagnosis, induction, consolidation, maintenance chemotherapy and symptom management, as well as salvage therapies for relapsed disease. Patients with lymphoma, multiple myeloma, and mycosis fungoides are treated with chemotherapy, immunotherapy, biologic agents and radiation therapy. Texas Children’s Hospital NICU holds the distinct honor of being the first recognized Level IV NICU in The State of Texas and was recognized in 2024 as the #3 NICU in the country by US News. PFW NICU offers the highest possible level of specialized treatments as well as expert specialists for babies born prematurely and with unique health challenges. It is located on the 7th & 8th floor of the Pavilion for Women Tower and is a private room unit with a transition area. The private bed unit fosters teamwork and collaboration amongst the nurses. Babies admitted to this unit are born in the Pavilion for Women Labor and Delivery unit or may have transferred in from other facilities. A team of NICU-specialized nurses, providers, respiratory therapists, social workers, child life specialists, physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, music therapists, care coordinators, and pharmacists come together to care for our patients and families. TCH PFW NICU RN’s will be responsible for caring for critically ill neonates and infants requiring complex care and the highest level of support.
