Job Summary UT Southwestern Medical Center is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join the Cardiac Surgery team in a dedicated nocturnal inpatient role. The Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant will serve as a key clinical provider caring for high-acuity cardiac surgery patients throughout the continuum of hospitalization. Working collaboratively with cardiac surgeons, physicians, nurses, and multidisciplinary care teams, the APP will provide comprehensive inpatient management including consultations, admissions, discharges, ordering and interpreting diagnostic studies, developing treatment plans, coordinating care, and providing patient and family education. The APP will follow patients before and after cardiac surgical procedures, manage complex clinical issues, interpret laboratory results, chest X-rays, and EKGs, facilitate specialty consultations, and perform independent clinical decision-making in a fast-paced environment. This role offers a high degree of autonomy and is ideal for providers who are detail-oriented, adaptable, and thrive in a collaborative, patient-centered setting. Veterans encouraged to apply.
