Orders, inventories, and oversees the storage of first aid and related health supplies and equipment. Requisition building equipment and supplies as needed for the Principal. Attends meetings with the school administrators when required. Consults with the attendance teacher and staff members regarding a variety of health factors related to absences and communicable diseases. Works with cafeteria staff to ensure that all students with food allergies receive appropriate meals while in school. Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Possession of a valid license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Virginia. At least one (1) year of supervised nursing experience in community or child health. Possess and maintain current certifications in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and first aid from a recognized provider (e.g., American Heart Association). A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in nursing, public health nursing, or other nursing programs is preferred. Work toward (and subsequently maintain) a certification in school nursing, community health/public health nursing, family nurse practitioner, or pediatric/school nurse practitioner from a nationally recognized professional nursing organization is preferred.
