About The Team Our NICUs are sophisticated intensive care units that offer technologically advanced equipment and a wide range of cutting-edge therapies. Our NICU medical teams are on-site around the clock and attend every delivery in which postnatal complications are deemed possible. Patient care in the NICU is dynamic and personalized, with an emphasis on Family-Centered Care. In fact, parents and families are an integral part of the healing process. At Goryeb Children’s Hospital, Morristown Medical Center, has a 34-bed Level III NICU. It is designated a Regional Perinatal Center by the New Jersey Department of Health. At Overlook Medical Center, the 15-bed NICU is also a Level III unit. Both NICUs are equipped to care for extremely premature infants and babies with a wide variety of illnesses, genetic conditions, and surgical requirements. Our neonatologists and advanced neonatal practitioners are on-site 24 hours a day in order to provide continuity of care to our patients and coordinate care decisions with other pediatric subspecialists. At Chilton Medical Center, the NICU is a Level II Special Care Nursery, an additional setting for high quality neonatal care within Atlantic Health System. It is always staffed by a team of experienced neonatologists, advanced neonatal practitioners and pediatric hospitalists. The SCN provides care to infants born at a gestational age of greater than 31 weeks who require critical care, including infants with infections and respiratory problems.
