Weekend Caregiver – Friday, Saturday & Sunday Location: Maryville, IL Pay: $16.00 per hour Schedule: Friday, Saturday & Sunday | 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM Hours: 36 hours per week We are currently looking for a dependable and experienced caregiver to provide care for a female client in Maryville, Illinois. This is a set weekend schedule and does NOT rotate. The caregiver hired for this position must be available to work every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM. The client is currently bedridden and requires hands-on assistance with her daily care. Responsibilities include: Repositioning/turning the client every 2–3 hours Assisting with personal care and hygiene Providing incontinence care and changing the client after bowel movements as needed Providing appropriate care while the client has a catheter Keeping the client clean, comfortable, and safe Other caregiving duties as needed We are looking for someone who is comfortable and experienced with bedridden clients, catheter care, repositioning, and personal care. Reliability is extremely important for this position. This position provides a guaranteed 36 hours each week , with opportunities to pick up additional shifts throughout the week if interested. JOB SUMMARY The Nurse supports and assists in providing a holistic, therapeutic, person-centered Memory Care Program on the Memory Care Unit. The Nurse will achieve and maintain the highest quality of life for each resident with a diagnosis of a disease that causes dementia residing in or under the care of the facility. SUPPORT DUTIES Commit to continued growth as a knowledgeable and experienced healthcare provider in the area of Alzheimer’s dementia and other diseases that cause dementia. Commit to obtaining at least 12 hours of continual education annually for self, including the required 16 hours of orientation training and any other ongoing dementia care specific trainings for direct care staff. Assist in oversight of the Memory Care Aides and Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), including supervision and assistance with ADL care, transportation, and non-scheduled activities by staff. Become knowledgeable of each individual resident’s background, life history, disease, medical and behavioral care needs, and preferences in detail. Utilize any communication devices for residents, such as language services, communication boards, assistive devices, etc. Accept education for utilizing these mechanisms to provide ample communication. Assist in providing a therapeutic, person-centered memory care activity program that constantly strives to enhance the quality of life of each resident, meets the Memory Care Program Mission and Philosophy, and upholds the Memory Care policies and procedures and all state and federal standards; commit in providing non-scheduled activities through the use of my talents and training. Encourage family involvement through volunteering and visitation. Provide a clean, safe, non-hazardous unit for the residents and staff. Assist in providing an individualized symptom management tracking system as needed per resident, including development and maintenance of individualized, non-pharmacological interventions implemented. Complete all required documentation. Maintain all program policies and procedures and state and federal regulations. Provide feedback to the Memory Care Director for monitoring achievement of the facility and Memory Care Program goals through a team approach. Be flexible to meet the change in residents’ needs.
