Essential Responsibilities: Patient Care: Provide direct and indirect patient care under the direction of a VIPcare provider. Welcome patients and prepare them for examination by obtaining and documenting medical histories, chief complaints, current medications, allergies, surgical history, family history, social history, preventive care information, and other pertinent clinical data in the electronic medical record (EMR). Measure, document, and report vital signs and other clinical observations. Explain treatment plans and procedures to patients and prepare examination rooms prior to provider visits. Assist providers during examinations and procedures by preparing equipment and handing instruments as directed. Administer medications, injections, immunizations, and treatments within the scope of licensure and provider orders. Perform wound care, dressing changes, irrigation procedures, and other nursing interventions as appropriate. Initiate and monitor IV therapy, when certified and permitted by state regulations.
