Description MaineHealth Behavioral Health (MHBH), a member of MaineHealth, seeks a full-time psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our Integrated Team with MaineHealth Pediatrics - Kennebunk. MaineHealth Behavioral Health (MHBH) seeks an experienced Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our Integrated Team with MaineHealth Pediatrics in Kennebunk, Maine . The PMHNP will join the Pediatrics team in York County to provide psychiatric consultation and care to help shape services for a multidisciplinary outpatient clinic. Educating the care team on psychiatric approaches to behavioral health conditions is an exciting part of the role. The ideal candidate will have a passion for treating children of all ages and young adults with behavioral health disorders. Previous PMHNP experience working with pediatrics required. Schedule:Part Time (benefits eligible) 20 hours per week - Potential hybrid (onsite with some remote work) options. Duties/Responsibilities: Complete diagnostic evaluation and health screening. Prescribe medical treatment within scope of practice. Provide on-going medication assessment, education, and management. Provide therapeutic treatment in face-to-face and tele-psychiatric evaluations. Develop and record a plan for effective and timely treatment for patients in a community-based setting. Complete medical records timely per policy. Minimum Qualifications: Master’s degree with an advanced knowledge of nursing theory and practice, and additional medical training. Provides crisis intervention services to clients with a wide variety of acute mental health problems, including suicide attempts, family conflicts, alcohol misuse, drug abuse, grief reactions, and trauma resulting from violence. Provides follow-up on patients who have recently been discharged from inpatient psychiatric facility and those with poor adherence to treatment plan. Maintains all appropriate client records according to professional and departmental policies. On-call coverage is provided on a schedule coordinated with the emergency room. Takes rotation along with rest of staff. Works closely with the Navajo Tribal Division of Social Services, law enforcement and other agencies to coordinate services for mental health patients who have serious family and other social problems. Refers patients to supportive services to supplement treatment and counseling when needed. Responsible for electronic health records data entry pertinent to patient service role. Participates in departmental workflow and or testing teams as related to electronic health record or other project initiatives. Ensure proper PPE is worn at all times while on duty including but not limited to, face mask, gloves, gown, isolation gown, NIOSH-approved N95 filtering face piece respirator or higher, if available), and eye or face shield. Complete all donning and doffing tasks in a safe acceptable method and discard of used PPE accordingly. What You’ll Do as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner at Meritus Health, you’ll: Perform comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and mental status examinations Diagnose and manage patients with a wide range of psychiatric conditions in acute inpatient and related settings Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, including psychopharmacology and medication management Provide follow-up care, medication adjustments, and long-term monitoring Document patient encounters accurately and timely in the EMR Typical Schedule and Practice Details Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (full independent practice with high autonomy) Expected caseload: 15–16 patients per day (typically 2 new admissions/intakes and 13–14 follow-up/medication management visits) Dedicated time for charting, prior authorizations, refills, and messages is built into the 8-hour workday Primary focus: Ages 8 through adult, with primary management of adults and some children/adolescents in an acute psychiatric level of care Minimum Qualifications Education: Master’s or Doctorate in Nursing (MSN or DNP) from an accredited program; completion of a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner program required. Experience: Board certification as a PMHNP (or eligibility) required. Experience in acute psychiatric care, inpatient behavioral health, and medication management preferred. Licensure/Certification: Active Maryland RN and PMHNP licensure (or eligibility to obtain). The Psychosocial Oncology Program (POP) is a team of multidisciplinary professionals working with children and families affected by cancer. Commonly known as the POP Team, our mission is to help children, teens, young adults, and their families navigate emotional, social, and cognitive concerns after cancer diagnosis. The UI Stead Family Department of Pediatrics is seeking an APP to join our division of Hematology-Oncology as a member of the POP Team. In this role, the APP works in an integrated care model with the medical oncology team to assess and facilitate management of mental health aspects of pediatric cancer care. POP APPs perform comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments for children following cancer diagnosis and periodically throughout the cancer trajectory. Based on assessment findings, the APP facilitates appropriate referrals and connection to several psychosocial resources. The APP provides therapeutic support with all visits and, when necessary, prescribes and manages psychiatric medications as an intervention. This position will be required to work either Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm or 4 days per week 10-hour days. Duties To Include Obtains and documents a comprehensive medical, psychosocial, and developmental health history; performs and documents complete, system-focused, or symptom-specific physical examination, assessment, and plan of care. Focuses on the social, emotional and cognitive aspects of pediatric oncology care and collaborates with multidisciplinary team members to incorporate these components into the overall plan of care. In collaboration, provides healthcare services for primary, acute, and complex care of patients and manages patient's overall care, initiates appropriate referrals and consultations, and identifying expected outcomes for diagnoses. Orders, performs, interprets, and collects data using appropriate assessment techniques, relevant supporting diagnostic information and diagnostic procedures where indicated. Forms differential diagnoses and treats acute and chronic conditions. Prescribes therapeutic interventions both pharmacologic, non-pharmacologic, and needed to achieve expected outcomes. Utilizes evidence-based, approved practice protocols in planning and implementing care. Provides specialty specific consultation services upon request and within specialty scope of practice. Facilitates the patient’s transition between and within health care settings, such as admitting, transferring, and discharging patients. Participates in departmental educational conferences and clinical care meetings. Accurately and appropriately complete documentation of patient care in the electronic medical record (EMR) and other records for compliance, billing, and other regulatory standards.
