Hospitalist Nurse Practitioner - PRN

The Hospitalist Nurse Practitioner (NP) provides direct medical care to patients requiring hospitalization. They chart medical history, assess health status, diagnose any potential issues, and work with physicians and other health professionals to provide high-quality care. They are in charge of accurately filling out the patients' chart, as well as keeping it up to date as diagnoses and evaluation continue. The Hospitalist Nurse Practitioner also orders tests, collects data regarding the patients' status, and communicates with patients' family members as needed. Additionally, these professionals have to communicate regularly with the physician(s) and other members of the health care team to discuss status updates for patients. Essential Functions Performs evaluation and problem identification of patients. Performs history and physical examination of patients. Writes prescriptions, orders and interprets laboratory data and radiological tests. Monitors patient status and response to treatments. Documents findings in the medical record. Recommends appropriate therapeutic interventions. Provides education and counseling for patients. Directs patient and/or family to agencies dealing with specific illnesses/diseases.
